Quote: JUDGE666 "Coming into this season i for one was full of hope that Potter could improve the decline we suffered under the Mcnamara era. Given the changes in personal we were never going to compete for honours or make the top 4 but i don't it was unreasonable to expect to make the play-offs?
As the season has progressed i believe Mr Potter has made some strange decisions with his team selections and these decisons have led to a another total disaster year.
1. The whole Briggs debacle. Why the hell Briggs was dropped after starting to develop a good relationship at half with Jeffries is baffling, they were actually creating things! Then Potter ships him out on loan to Quins!
2. Herbert. a poor signing from the start, and favoured throughout at the expense of the above.
3. Royston. For some reason has been given limited opportunities. I agree that Kearney is the better Full-Back but for me Royston should have played at Centre instead of the disaster that is Paul Sykes!
4. For some reason the team do not seem to be motivated under Potter. Maybe he lacks man management skills? but they certainly dont seem to want to bust a gut for the coach.
I will concede we have had some bad injuries throughout the season, and losing L Estrange and then Diskin just about finished us off.
Lets see if he can turn things round next year, the players coming in are definately an improvement if Potter can make then gel?
Thoughts?'"
Agree with all of the above. Potter didn't sign Hebert though, that was done without his input. I am unsure why he has continued to play him though and ship out Briggs, who in my opinion was looking promising. Point 4 is the most concerning.....
