Just seen another tweet from Saints in that they are keeping everything crossed for just a straightforward muscle injury. It was his knee. But if it was muscle only then he could still be out for 'a few weeks'.

They are awful tho mate.

Didn't go my love, my team had a game so didn't make it. I knew we'd lose anyway.

I've spoke and txt with people who did go and they said it was an improvement but still poor.

Its not just about today's performance tho is it, we've been crap in our four games before this and plus we was poor in our one and only practice match.

While the likes of Wigan, Leeds and Warrington had a pre season of training and practice games, we was resting!

On the subject of Roby being injured, i actually thought Lance played very well at hooker and moved us around the park very well.

Infact i think Lance is a bit cuter in the head than Roby from dummy half, in that he appeared to read the game better.

Going forward i would be tempted to have Lance in at hooker and play Roby at loose forward.

You have a short memory Pete. Remember last season? We were crap for the first third of it. I think we got two from six against Hudds, Wigan and Wire didn't we? And people were prophesying the end of the world then too but we still got to a GF. Might have won it too had we not had three injuries in ten minutes.

I didn't go to the match either but listened to Wish FM commentary, which is good. Our ball retention was poor in the second half, our discipline was poor throughout but our defence improved massively. Our senior players appear to be the problem, Shenny and Meli dropping ball with the line begging, for instance. Gaskell made one error with a kick which gave them their final try. Lomax kicked out on the full and missed the final conversion. All things that can be addressed, just as the defence was clearly addressed this last week. We will click, just as we clicked last season.

At least if Robes is out injured long term we have a first class replacement for him in Hohaia.

Lomax said in an interview recently that Lance has crafty plays and has already taught him some. Also, I remember once reading that Lance was a 'revelation' at hooker when played there.

Last year was last year and we can't just think it will pan out the same.

Just got off the phone to one of my "buddies" and he's said laffranchci was top class today and best game he's had in saints shirt. Roby on crutches and strapped from calf to his thigh.

He also said that it's got to the point where we can't even put a kick in on last play and we are not creative enough in those 20.

He also suggested he'd like to see lance at scrum half with Gaskell and lomax fullback. (if robes is fit)
