Have any of you looked at what Sale RU have been doing for the last 6 months? They've got rid of all their best, most well paid players. They don't have a lot of money, as someone has already said, their salary cap might be bigger, but they've got to get a lot of players into it. In addition, their crowds are crap. Eastmond would be a huge gamble for them. He would have to learn a position in RU, that would take at least 2 years. Saints need to give him a really good offer now, kids like him are your future.

He is staying. I know someone who knows Eastmonds dad very well. Apparantly Kyle has had a right chuckle at these stories and has no intention of leaving. He will be sitting down with the club after the grand final and cant wait to sign on the dotted line.

This was before I got the infomation at the match yesterday. I have been asking my aquaintance to get the goss for weeks. I thought he was a goner based on the rumours of how much Sale were supposedly offering so wind your neck in.

There has to be something in place by the RFL to save the likes of Eastmond, Tomkins, Myler etc being drawn away from Rugby League... if we want to improve and expand our game the kids HAVE to be looked after!

Maybe if the RFL pay an extra part to the wage to keep them away... but only allow say 1 or 2 players per team maybe?

There needs to be salary cap allowances for young players who come through clubs academy systems.

Agreed thats what I was trying to get at in a round and about way... promotes using acadamy trained players instead of raiding Australia for over the hill Aussies and Kiwi's after a nice pay off!

well here's some info that may or may not be relevant. Sale have signed a young lad from st.helens on a senior contract at 18yrs old, he has played ru all his life and is the current england U18 flyhalf. He has been through the sale academy setup as well. This may not be relevance as i have no idea where kyle would play in an union team, but if he was aimed at flyhalf, then this puts this rumour down somewhat

I heard a story from a reliable source that they will open discussions post Grand Final over a new 4 year contract...

I heard he's going to Salford, to plug the gap left by Myler. He's not signed for Saints because they've secured a big name Aussie and he wants first team action. (from a reliable source)
