| Just been told that Kallum had an interview with Bath RU last week for next season. The person who has said it knows him and his other half...
Massive loss if true...

| Yeah, end of 2019 which was why I thought it was a bit out there but comes from a source close to him. I'd love to be just trolling on this one - I seriously hope it doesn't happen.

| He had an meeting with Bath early last year, before signing his long term contract, maybe someone is just with delayed info. He decided at that point that Union was not for him, and at the same time he and partner decided that the UK was their future, rather than Australia.

Yeah, the Bath rumour is from beginning of last season. Signed a 5 year deal since then. Bath would have to pay a lot of money to get Watkins down to The Rec next year.

| Could always be an agent getting rumours floating around now that the marquee player deal is around and Leeds seem more likely to use it to keep one of their own.

| Kallum is a quality player and I would hate for him to leave us but if it depends on the offer and will Gary Hethrington take it and will kal himself want to Try union aswell, plus eastmond is rumoured to be returning to league and also plays for bath so if rumour is true which I hope not this is probably why bath would look at Kal because he is top quality

| Top earners in SL won't be attracted to RU. Even more so now the marquee thing is coming into play. How many TOP SL players go to RU? Only Robinson (who won everything with Wigan anyway), Burgess (done SL & NRL. General freak player) and $BW.
Eastmond, Tomkins, Chev, Ashton etc were average at best. Vainikolo's body couldn't handle league. Did I miss anyone of any note?

Sure they would salary cap is close to double, French league even more so basically you can earn double or more......attraction to play the game is the question not the money.....Ashton was not average, ok with the others!!

Its not quite double due to the squad sizes. SL is 25 whereas most AP clubs have a 40 man squad.
So the average is £72,000 for SL compared to approx £117,500 for AP clubs.

For an average SL player that would be quite attractive. I think players like Watkins will be more than comfortable with what he is/will be earning at Rhinos. He's also got a young family. Would he uproot them for a pay packet that wouldn't make much difference to his current lifestyle?

Potential for big England RU pay scale if he went that direction, a few years a ago I read a England contract would add up to 100k onto your club salary, what that is now who knows. Regardless not 'ere to butt heads but just saying there is certainly an attraction if only financial for many leading SL players to go to RU
