| I'm posting this whilst we're ahead so can't be accused of sour grapes etc
Tonight's game to me has been a classic example of how much impact Ref's can have on the quality of a game...for both teams we've had endless slow play the balls and a consistently skinny 10 (has there been an offside penalty at all?).
The end result is a pretty dire match in terms of entertainment value.

| The holding down and especially offside and skinny 10 has been a hallmark of reffing this season.
It's obviously this years interpretation.
Whilst we're on the subject of refereeing. I absolutely hate the McGuire no try situation where there's an incident well away from the try line and the ref let's play continue and then goes to the video ref for it. I don't just mean this specific incident, there are plenty more like it.
I have 2 issues with it. Firstly, by allowing play to continue the ref has already made his decision. Secondly, if McGuire (in this instance) gets tackled instead of scoring, play continues and could score without VR check off the next play. It incentivises a player to NOT score a try.

Correct it's a cop out by the ref and a gutless video ref decision. This type of thing is turning people of the game

| The refereeing was poor but there was very, very little indication that the players of either side would provide much quality whatever the reffing was like.

Hall didn't play the ball, he went in for the tackle. Keinhorst sort of squeezed the ball off Hall's arm and there was nothing Hall, who wasn't looking to play the ball, could have done about it. The sort of letter-of-the-law decision that shows the law (and Stuart Cummings) is an ass.

| Like I said on the other thread, by the letter of the law it's correct....just like how they can disallow all those 'obstruction' tries by "letter of the law"......unfortunately common sense isn't allowed it seems in most/all cases.

| We are going of the original topic and the o.p is correct , but early season we had quick play the balls esprcially when Silverwood reffed , clowns like this guy tonight ,Child and the excuse of a ref last week are not up to it , mind you the Leeds performance in recent weeks has been on a similar level to those jokers

| A good team can adapt. Leeds ATM seem to be incapable of doing this. We look massively jaded, key personnel out of the team is obviously having an effect, but we just look absolutely clueless, with no plan B.

| If the ball hadn't had touched hall it may well of gone to trinity.hand so his knock on affected play.what bout Riley's try was Lynne in touch? That should been benefit of doubt.leeds got more off the ref than trinity esp Walters ball stealing

| What ever happened to the rule that you had to play for the ball and if you're engaged in the tackle it's not a knock on. The Hall knock on was marginal and as for Clarke's outburst well it just shows you his bias on the situation and where he'd pinned his colours, they need to bin him off if he can't be impartial. He needs to take a leaf out of Barrie's and Jon Wells book who are professional in their analysis

I'm moaning at the rule not the application of the rule.
