Anyone else had a text ,E-mail or phone call inviting them to the Consultation Evenings re-the new Southstand on the 11th and 12th of october?

Is it open to season ticket holders/members?

I'm assuming so mate the txt message i got was to phone a number to confirm my attendence for the 11th or 12th starting at 6.30pm at the ground!

I know as a season ticket holder it is nice to have your say but on this one i will let the people who actually use the ss decide on its future.

Not got one yet but hope I do get one... even without cake, I will be there... cake would just be a bonus!

Although, it will have to be the 11th as I can't do the 12th as I am going to be at another meeting at another RL club that evening!

It's nice when the club owns their ground, and willing to listen to fans views.

My guess is the consultation evening will be all about asking you all to dig deep into your pockets to help pay for the new stand by becoming a Rhinos 4 Life member. Do that and your views will then be listened to

Well then you guess wrong. Leeds have a number of fans consultations evenings throughout the year, and none of them are used as 'sales evenings.'

What is there to consult about?

I seem to remember how the supporters were consulted over the choice of suffix to compliment the Leeds name in 96/7 and how the supporter's choice was subsequently and almost immediately ignored.

I've been waiting for someone to bring this up.
I think you confuse consultation with listen to & act upon.
As you know organisations regularly consult with their customers/clients but do not always or rarely take any notice of what they say.
Consult = make them think they have input, but still do what we always intended to do.
Local government is expert in this & management in any dealings with Trades Unions &/or employees.

I agree and therefore would view the acceptance of the invitation as all a bit pointless from a supporter point of view.

Out of interest, what was the supporters' choice? I was abroad during that period. I'd vaguely supposed that there'd been some sort of vote and that "rhinos" had, somewhat bafflingly, been the popular choice.

The YEP conducted an 'official' poll (at the request of the new Leeds CEO IIRC) and from the list of half a dozen or thereabouts possibilities the one that polled the most votes was 'Loiner'

Mr Hetherington declared that was a rubbish choice by the supporter base, completely unmarketable and gave us the name which probably came about 4th in the poll.

(As you can no doubt tell, I only have my vague recollections to refer to here as my scrapbooking days ended with the advent of SL and I was unable to start a digital version until the YEP got themselves up and running online around four years later.)
