| Hi
Usually just read from afar but thought i'd join in after hearing about this
Last Friday was the Supporters Club Player of the year awards at the King George in Glasshoughton
Apparantly a very poor turn out from the players with only Widders and Clark turning up
What are your thought's on this?

Richard Tunningley, Gary Thornton, and Terry Matterson all managed to make it along with all of the winners from the junior set-ups.
Deano made it at the last minute but had been delayed on the way back from France.
As far as I am aware there were late withdrawls from Craig Huby and Kirk Dixon , but im not sure if anyone heard from Rangi Chase. Rumour had it that Willie Isa had planned his leaving do for the same night, so that may be the reason for the non-attendances , but id doesn't look good when there was a room full of people there.
Hopefully there will be some pictures from the event with the winners that did manage to attend, later this week, so keep an eye on www.ctsc.org.uk
It isn't the first time this has happened and sometimes it is understandable why the players can't make it, but my thoughts are that the club should do better with things like this, especially as the SC has so far donated over £40,000 since it was set up.

| yeah they were my thoughts
Could maybe understand players like McGoldrick (USA), Chase (New Zealand), Blackmore, Jackson (Scotland) not being here due to the upcoming Autumn Internationals but Clark (Scotland call up) made the effort - and Widders typifies the club man ethos.
Just think more effort needs to be made to make more of a community feel to the club - maybe a golf day could be organised where 2 players team up with 2 supporters (could auction this) as most seem to play.
Read the other day that Walker has taken a part-time job to help with the bills - don't know if this was a joke as it was on twitter but surely we need to get them in the gym and bulk up a little if we want to compete at the top
Hopefully Millward will bring a little more professionalism on the above to the club
