| Overrated in my opinion. He cost us almost as many games as he won us. Saxton a far better player all round.

I agree he was dodgy under the high ball but if he did catch it the opposition were in trouble from broken play. I can think of a few occasions when the opposition payed big style for trying to bombard Rob with high balls.
I hope we have some signings lined up with pace because our current squad is lacking badly in that department. Especially when you remove Rob and Fieldhouse from the mix!

| Much rather have him in my side than against. His confidence was completely shattered by KH who would drop him too easily. And play someone like Rettie instead, who was no better under the high ball, had no pace and lets face it hardly put the frighteners on the opposition. Yeah, teams would pepper Rob, but they then often paid the price, because when he retuned it, he either made easy yards or they had to send in several tacklers to stop him, enabling us to create space on our next play. And how many penalties did he win because of teams trying to stop him playing the ball quick.
I also like to have a player on the field who raises the excitement. You always had that sense of something might happen when he had the ball. There aren’t many players like that these days.

| He will be missed, his work rate was second to none, how many times would he take the ball up?
On his ability under the high ball, yes it was a bit suspect but poor coaching meant that he rarely got blockers or support, something you would have thought was obviously required. No, our coach would just drop him.

Sorry Hudd-Shay, no disrespect intended but, too much Mmmmmm?
Great player for us and i personally feel sad about the outcome.
I did however post when Rob was first banned before the extention that Rob would never play for us again.
I also said I took no delight in saying that.
Nice bloke as well.
Good luck Rob for the future.

| Quote: Hudd-Shay "Sadly no Mmm! Just my opinion. A fair point mentioned though was that KH's tactics did not favour wingers.'"
That may be true but it didn't stop him signing Saxton and Fox.

Don't think Saxton or Reittie could have scored that effort in the 2010 GF and that ultimately won us the game. Can't think of many players who could!
Yes he was dodgy under the high ball but plenty of wingers are, look how bad Vainikolo was for Bradford in his first season, then with proper coaching and faith in his selection look what happened! Can't remember Mark Preston being safe under the high ball either!
Like has already been mentioned his work rate was immense, time and again taking the heat from the forwards with runs early in the set whereas Reittie, Fox and others would simply hide on their wings or pass the ball on.
He had the ability to change the match by busting the tackle and scorching clear, however he simply had to go which is a massive shame.
