| Nanyn out for the season
"Finally got the scan results and its bad news torn my ACL and damaged my meniscus need 2 operations to sort it out! Gutted"
He posted that on his twitter earlier.
Hes replied to a few people saying it'll be about 6 months if rehab goes well. Big loss for us

| The off-season is the most dangerous part of a players career it would seem.
Gutted for Mick and Fax.

I read somewhere recently that some American Clubs have stopped having a traditional "pre season" training regime, saying that the excessive fitness work ect causes more injuries, so instead they continue to train all year round rather than having a long break at the end of a season

| I would suggest an ACL injury has nowt to do with pre-season intensity and could happen at any time.
Hope Mick has a full and speedy recovery. Will be a big loss to the league.

| Gutted for the big lad. Absolute points machine and a massive loss to any team. Was disappointed when he left Leigh as he was in great form last year. Get well soon Mick!

| Mick may be a prolific points scorer, but we're not short on them.
The squad was more or less complete when it became apparent Nanyn was available, An offer was made which he took, and IIRC that was curtains for Bannister.
Yes its a blow for Mick on a personal level, but its not the end of the world as far as Halifax are concerned. We have players who can kick goals and we have Centre's who can score tries.

we have 'a' [sizecentre[/size that can score tries.
none of the others that are likely now to play right centre are actually centres.
Reittie is an winger(or for some a second row), Patto is a winger, Haley is wing/fb, heaton is fb, Fieldhouse is a fb. have i missed anyone?
this was the 1st season in years we were going to have 2 specialist centres.
we will still be ok though.
just get the ball to Tyrer in space and we will score! that lad is CLASS!

| Heaton only moved to full back at oldham to cover a weakness there. He is a centre
Patto is a better centre
And both of them are 100 times better then mick at tackling.
Gutted for him but i was gutted when we signed him
