Halifax forum poster SHAYFAX has been formely invited to switch on the Batley Christmas lights after almost certainly putting them into the Quarter final of the Carnegie challenge cup against Catalan Dragons.
SHAYFAX also copped the club a big fine and coach Matt Calland was also suspended with immediate effect.

Speaking from his Halifax home, although wishing to remain anonymous SHAYFAX came to the front gate of his back to back terraced house on Pellon lane, wearing an ASDA carrier bag over his head with two eye holes cut out and asked that the press respected his privacy and he would be making no further comment. Asked if he would be attending the Barrow game this weekend SHAYFAX declined to comment.

The bigger laugh is the thought in my head that this did all come about because of a post on a fans messagebaord.
Now that would just be bl88dy hilarious and make the game a total joke, well it is really I wonder why we bother at times?

Hang on the game at swinton was 4 weeks away and they are trying to say that noone from the club had twigged he was cup-tied when ordinary fans knew he was.
Surely between the Swinton game and Sunday it would have come to someones attention.If not why not? also if there were persons who knew at the club why did they keep it quiet and let all the fans travel to the game? The onus is on the clubs to ensure you do not play someone who is cup-tied it`s a simple enough ask surely.

I am going to take an indefinite break from these forums.

Whether it was a mistake or not I do not know, but how you can place the blame on me, I feel it's unfair.

The club were wrong and this error shouldn't have happened. I was simply asking, and unfortunately it lead to this. Something, no doubt, that would have happened sooner rather than later.

It's a shame, but I guess these things happen!
