IF YOU WANT TO WIN IT YOU'VE GOT TO EARN IT. DESIRE AND PASSION FOR 80 MINUTES. COME ON FAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:38361.jpg

One good thing from tonight, Ostick looked useful and put in some good long stints on the field.
Hope it carries on, but then again, he's only trained with the team once. Give him a few more training sessions under Calland with the others and he'll probably lower himself to their levels.

Game lad. Him and Maloney look far better than Frank and Mikale.

Agreed, I thought Maloney and Ostick both showed up very well. Especially in the first half. In one set of 6 tackles both of them took 2 good hit-ups. On reflection, Watene came on for last 9 minutes of the 1st half. Also thought Said looked good when he came on in first half.

Back on theme of the thread, I think Ostick is a good aquisition, young, energetic, can off load and has a point to prove. He is looking to progress in the game, and so is Maloney. However the rest of our front row ( and much of the back row) are just about hanging on to the career they once had.

agree. Morrison stood out for FEV as well.
These type of players are what we need not old timers, at least Ostick is a move in the right direction.

I thought he did ok, solid and took the ball in well. Saying that it was a struggle to see who was who!! - Don't understand why we didn't play in the Blue & White kit as struggled to seperate the two teams when at the other end

We discussed the colour clash, well before half time. It did seem a little odd.

I thought it was pretty poor on Hewers behalf to allow the tems to play (even when clean) in similar coloured attire!

I'm sure the RFL decide prior to a fixture what can and can't constitute a colour clash, and in Hewer's defence, the match commissioner also has some matchday influence on such issues. Very difficult viewing though made worse by being floodlit.

Played ok but maybe we don't want our props to be able to off load. Maybe we just want our props to drive it in so we can complete a set of 6.

True, at the present moment we need some safe percentage rugby, but there is a difference in an off-load and simply throwing the ball behind you in the tackle, or just simply dropping it on the floor behind you. A good off load to penky or black or gleeson in broken play is a devastating weapon. However all we have seen lately is the ball dropped on the floor behind the player which means whoever gets to it can only simply drop on it and get tackled.
Last season Said and frank were off-loading to each other, scored twice at Fev with it. Not seen it at all this year. Is it a lack of confidence or is it the game plan?
