| Thought we looked really solid today. Much better shape in defence than we had last year. Attack will come the more we play. Thought Stanley was outstanding today. Good to see Brannigan nattering at the team all the time organising. All in all a good start with lots to work on.

| How good are the Rams though?
Did we perform well against Championship road kill or are the Rams credible opposition?
I hope Patterson overcomes his kicking mental demons quickly.

| thought we played some good rugby today and we played 60 minyes with only two sub's Lader pulled out with a bug which meant goddard in the pack and Cherryholme also came off never to bee seen again he also has a bug, but why play Nash when he aint trained since the saints game and was clearly still injured and possibly made worse today, when young bowman could have played 7 with stan in the pack

| You're right (wwyi1987), Dewsbury offered little in attack today and only broke the line once really. But its early season im sure they'll get better and a nilling's a nilling so well played to us.
The ref loved the sound of his own sodding whistle and it got boring at times. Also not sure why we didnt get a sin bin the amount of 'offences' we made to be fair to the Rams. Always happens early season though.
We weren't going to lose today and didn't push ourselves in attack like we can and simply got the job done and got a match under our belts.
One early season moan though. Why when Gene steps and knocks on does everyone laugh it off and go 'unlucky Gene' etc, but when Penky does it it's followed with 'oh ffs penkywicz!'. No point in getting on anyones back this early. Give it a rest.

| Thoughts from afar.
Good result against a potential slip up............
Got some ring rustiness out of their system & players starting to gel under actual live play conditions. Content with that.........
On a lighter note or maybe not
Anyone else think Dewsbury Rams new logo is all so slightly disturbing?
Especially in this so called pr/pc/family friendly times......
Crickey I latched on to their website & for a split second I thought id stumbled across a upside down cross rugby league team
Its not so much the more goat like looking rams head. The coup de grace is the bright red eyes............
& there we were concerned over our vicious looking cat logo..........

I think that was due to our outstanding defence, we didn't allow Dewsbury to play. To nil anyone is an outstanding acheievement. I thought the Rams defended fairly solidly as well, we just had that bit more to open them up.

| Dour game.
Fax's defence was excellent.
Dewsbury very "nuggety".
I was extremely cold.
Referee missed the most blatant knock on - ever.
Laughed my ass off when the Golden Gamble lad fell for that "it's upside down" joke and two of his numbers fell out when he checked.
New stand looks bloody massive. Bradford at home in the CC would set it off nicely.
Skircoat stand now looks like a Russian taverna by comparison.
The tannoy system was deafening.
Onwards and upwards - Cockney jellied eels next week. Streets are paved wi' gold. Cor blimey guv, make no mistake.

| I'm happy with the result... I expected it to be alot closer.
I think the lack of preseason games shows.. however it's obvious Stanley is going to be an absolute legend.
I'm glad the Sheffield game was suspended... I think it'll be a good thing were getting a couple of games in to gel before playing them.
I have to say I'm a bit disappointed at the attendance... I thought it looked really busy: huge que at the burger stall and I thought the skircourt rd stand looked alot busier than usual... maybe it was an optical illusion due to the imposing view of the fantastic new stand.

No, it felt "tighter" in the South Stand. Don't forget - the seasonal adjustments made to all statistics during the winter months
Seriously though - attendances of 2,100 and odd won't see us anywhere near those Super League gates.

Its the NRC for goodness sake so come on it was a good crowd as there were not many Dewsbury fans over, top gate in this round by a fair few too.

| Good result.
To nil any team is brilliant, especially in only our second game of the year.
The players looked very fit and in shape; especially Frank and Bannister. Cherryholme looks much bigger this year too.
Good attendance that will no doubt increase when the East Stand opens and the league starts.
Looking at the Skolars' result today; anyine reckon it'd be worth giving the young lads a chance? Bowman, Fleming, Rusell etc

Dewsbury put 50 past them and Hunslet put 60 past them. I agree that we should give some of the young lads a chance and rest a few for the Sheffield game, mid-week, which on paper should be a more difficult challenge.

| Pretty easy game in the end to be fair but like has been said to nil a team in this day and age of rugby is a cracking result.
I think with the harder dryer grounds and the addition of black and aizue to the team we will see a real step up..
i agree we should use some of the younger lads against Skolars but I think we should also think we should play a near full team to get the continuity going after the lack of pre-season games
