Halifax RLFC chief executive Graham Clay has described yesterday's summit of the Championship's Super League hopefuls at the Shay as "interesting and constructive".
Quote Rugby Football League officials made a 90-minute presentation on the licencing process, outlining the timetable leading up to the next round of handouts in the summer of 2011.
"It was a very interesting and constructive meeting and I would imagine the eight or nine clubs that attended all got something out of it," said Clay. "The format didn't really lend itself to discussing specific issues with individual clubs, but I think it will have focused a few minds."
One issue that wasn't on the agenda was the ongoing shambles surrounding Celtic Crusaders' overseas players, a hot topic with several Championship clubs, notably Widnes.
"It was made pretty clear that it was the wrong forum for that subject," said Clay. '"

They've released a statement saying 'Not our fault, they had visas so were cleared to play.' The RFL reckon holiday visas were good enough for employment and it was UK Boarders that moved the goal posts. In which case if the goal posts [iwere[/i moved, why weren't the correct visas sorted then? |

i wouldn't be surprised to hear that Phil Clarke is "too busy" for sky next year, penalty for daring to critisise the RFL publicly.
Shame he didnt say this last year and if only Paul Cullen had looked in his crystal ball would he have been so positive for Celtic, i think not.

To be fair they knew Cru would get the nod, so matter what personal feelings they had to all back it for the sake of the game!
Yet know let's be honest they HAVE ALREADY FAILED! As even if do well we all know that only RFL money got them to wherever!
