| Just been on the widnes forum and seen their thread of memories of naughton park and it got me thinking of my favorite and not so favorite memories of thrum hall. Seen as i only properly started watchin fax in about 1995 i dint see too many seasons in the ground but some of my favorite memories have to be going into the top bar in the pavillion with my dad and seeing all the players after the matches or again going up with my dad to the old club shop under the main stand so he could drop his photos off. playing memories have to be that first half against bradford in 1997 when we ripped em to pieces or freddies interception try against brisbane in the world club challenge. not so happy ones have to be the second half against bradford or the cup loss to keighly which i think was steve simms last match in charge? i sulked for days after the keighly game.
Anybody care to share any of their memories of the great old ground?

| i remember a boxing day fixture v bradford circa 1995???? the weather was awful snowing, the works and i arrived too late to fit in the shed so had stand on the open end breezing my nads off. I think it was a draw.
Putting 60 past leeds in 96 and the 3 wcc matches were pretty special.
but my favourite memory was richard smiths try v the aussie 94 fecking class!!!!!

| One of the best memory's i have of Thrum Hall has to be John Bentleys try against Warrington in the 94 season. In the 79th minute from 70 yards out when he went round 5 players handing off 4 of them to score under the sticks at the Scratching Shed end pure class.

| best memory was the atmosphere and Brendan Hill's barging runs!
my little lad thinks the shay crowd is great but I keep telling him it was nothing like Thrum hall back in 80's and 90's.
Although the recent Widnes game came some where near.
Excellent thread.

| one memory was a challenge cup win over the mighty wakefield trinity.
the team had been told not to come away from the try line without a point. so fax kept on dropping goals. wakey fans were going mad at the tactic.

| Remember when the ground was frozen, so they got an industrial burning unit to melt the ice, all that as left was mud, not one inch of grass.

| The atmosphere of the shed couldn't be beaten, you could almost touch the players and i'm sure it must have been awful for opposition teams to be stood behind the post at the shed end after we'd scored.
I know it's impossible now but how good would it be too have one last big game up there?

| Bradford Northern on a freezing cold wednesday night in the Yorkshire cup, their coach (Neil Fox I think it was) ran onto pitch to argue with the ref. We went on to draw 16-16 with a touch line kick from John Dorohay to tie the game. Packed out with almost 10K in there. Amazing atmosphere.
Or any night when we played the Aussie Tourists. We always gave them the hardest game of their tour in front of a packed crowd.

It was Peter Fox mate...think he has a silly Yellow hat on....plus he got away with it. The RFL never said a word to him.
