| Quote ="wrencat1873"Breaking the lockdown rules doesn't matter a jot, if you are one of the Governments chosen few, we all know that now and consequently, the lockdown "rules" are in tatters.
The test and trace is also screwed, due the Government failing to understand and implement a system that allows the various mobile devices to "talk" to one another, effectively omitting half of the mobile network.
I'm sure that they will be along soon to tell us that "X" million phones are compatible but, they have made a fundamental error (again).
25,000 tracers, most of whom are currently twiddling their thumbs, wont be enough.
More overstating capacity and mis leading the public - business as usual for this lot.'"
I completely agree - for me the best thing that could happen is understand who has had this virus and if you get it do you produce enough antibodies to prevent re-infection? You could be tested this week and get infected the next day? With track and trace you could be in permanent lock down and who is to stop malicious use of this? Would you download the app - I wouldn't.

| Track and trace has been shown to work well in countries that have efficient governments that are trusted by the people. So, no I wont be downloading the app.

| Our track and trace with regards the app is different from the majority of European countries who use a system produced by Apple and Android which is harder to hack because the information is located deep in your phone. The government’s system uses a central unit to store people’s details and currently relies more on the individual rather than technology.
I regret that the actions of the government and their employees have generated a lot of mistrust by the way they have handled the pandemic thereby increasing the populations doubt what they say about track and trace details.

| It seems that Johnson is a little more uncomfortable with Starmer opposite him in The Commons.
Johnson expects the opposition to just keep nodding as the mistakes and lies continue to tot up.
His ministers, advisers and fellow MP's (well most of them) just keep trotting out lie after lie.
Independent bodies can no longer follow the Governments arithmetic and have asked the government to explain and Boris wants the leader of the opposition to just go along with his falsehoods.
Starmer and others are damn right to call the government out.
Putting tests "in the post" is not the same as having capacity to test "X" number of people.
The test's are worthless without swift and accurate results.
There are cracks appearing at every turn with this lot and getting them somewhere closer to being truthful is absolutely right

| Johnson said 200,000 tests but that was corrected to capacity but again today he said tests, a figure we have go nowhere near. This is despite including postal tests, double tests and if they take a swab from the nose and mouth this is two tests. I guess this is why the actual number of people tested is no longer provided.
I find it amazing that he wants the opposition to back his failures with the handling of the virus. He also still believes that the population have not seen through the government’s failures.
It is obvious his only defence when not answering questions is to show his annoyance for someone daring to ask such things of him.

| The Telegraph had a good exclusive today - [iBoris Johnson is to take "direct control" of the Government's handling of the coronavirus crisis[/i
So who was in "direct control" before? Don't tell me Johnson was "too busy running the country to worry about the coronavirus crisis", as if he's some sort of genius working on a new economic plan for Britain, along with a cure for cancer.
Say what you want about Corbyn. At least he wouldn't be in hiding.

You really are one broken record with sadly limited ability to do anything but throw insults around rather than try to argue why the government is doing everything so well. I would suggest you give that a go because I am sure some of us would like to understand why you think they have, or are you just following the book of Boris which is if you have no answer just thump your fists and throw a tantrum.

Like Cronus, I don't read the Mail, but myself and he have at least one thing in common, we think for ourselves.

Cronus makes a number of long posts which clearly show he reads up on quite a broad range of things. Not sure where your commonality is with him?

| Bozo was looking like he'd been pulled through a hedge backwards today.
Bedraggled would be an understatement.
I get the impression the reality of getting the keys for No10 maybe isn't all what he thought it was cracked up to be.
Everything about his tetchiness and body language gives me the impression he'll be a single termer.

He also looks a little scared of Starmer, who is the polar opposite to Crobyn.
Always stays calm and speaks with quiet confidence, rather than the aggression of Corbyn or the bumbling nonsense of Johnson.
Johnson looks so far out of his depth its unreal and apart from lies and exaggeration, which have become the main themes during his tenure, he's just not up to it.
Also, having presided over the worst Covid19 figures in Europe and vying for the worst on the planet, he's not exactly setting the world alight.
The sheer lunacy of bringing in quarantine measures for those flying in from other nations, some 10 weeks too late, shows just how much in control he and his government are.
An absolute joke of a ruling party but, this isn't funny.

| I wonder if, in the face of crises, he might realise he isn’t the second-coming of Churchill and be persuaded to do an Edward Wood? He could use the after effects of his COVID-19 hospitalisation to save face, and maybe we could send him off to be Ambassador to the US, or summat, like Wood was. He could walk away with an 1-0 GE record, and having got Brexit done. Then let somebody else, more competent (i.e. anybody, pretty much, even from the shallow talent pool of the parliamentary Tory party) could deal with the pandemic and the aftermath of it and the end of the post-Brexit transition.

I completely agree - I don't see him taking the Tories into the next election. I do see Hunt rising from the ashes - between him and Sunak

Of course we did. Because we count deaths where Covid-19 is suspected, even if no test or a negative test is undertaken . Happened to my mums best friend. Rushed to hospital with a heart attack. 2 tests were taken, both negative. Guess what went on the death certificate. Most if not all the other countries, only count deaths that are proved to be caused by Covid-19. We are also 2-3 weeks behind the other countries of which, not all declare care home deaths or residential deaths.
The best baramoter is deaths per capita. if we adopted the other EU countries way of recording deaths, the UK would have the second lowest death rate per capital after Germany.
But dont let facts get in the way

Unless Sunak has some fiscal trick up his sleeve, he is likely to have to carry the can for the colossal debt that we have when we eventually establish some sort of control and normality.
Hunt may be a decent shout.
Never really liked him but, he is rather better than Johnson. Not as much charisma but, eminently better with most other things.

It's not even that its excess mortality which we will see in the distant future. Trying to compare apples with oranges which is what is happening currently is plain daft. Listen to the scientists!
