| football is shoved in your face when you flick through the back pages of the star and it dominates the sports coverage on radio Sheffield making it difficult for any other sport to get a look in sadly the general public don't look or can't be bothered to look past it.
I'm hoping if we play at owlerton next year we can tap into the local area and see an increase in attendances I think people with just a passing interest in the sport are alot more likely to attend games at owlerton simply because of the area it's in. Don valley has served us well don't get me wrong but who really wants to travel to attercliffe if they just have a passing interest or new to it.
Maybe also the reintroduction of promo/rele will help our marketing

| Playing at Brammel lane didn't do a lot for us so I,m not sure that being across the road from the Owls will make a load of difference - need to be back in the big time then work on the crowds in a decent "rugby" stadium.

It's Bramall.
If we wait till we're in the top flight to work on crowds, it'll be too late.

| The thing with splitting the games between DVS & Bramall Lane was that it didn't really encourage the casual supporter. Also, Bramall Lane is in an area not too dissimilar to Don Valley. In so much as it is not the easiest or nicest place to get to on a Thursday or Friday night.
Owlerton is extremely accessible by bus or tram. Its also surrounded by decent shopping & drinking facilities. I agree with Duckzilla IF (and its still a big if!) we do get back to Owlerton I could certainly see some real scope to increase the support base. Marketing opportunities around the Hillsborough area are certainly better for Liam & the team, than Attercliffe or S2

| I only put Brammel to irritate griff !! I know we have to try and increase the crowds before big time but it isn't happening need to keep plugging and hoping. But I don't see Hillsborough as easy to sell than S2 the pubs are closer at the Lane and who wants middlewood shop??? Less students etc... but got make the best of what we have - got to be easier than attercliffe to sell - yeah the trouble with the Lane was that no one knew whether we would be there next week or not at least with Owlerton we should be there for the season

| I am probably biased as i am a ten min walk away from Owlerton but i feel that the pubs are a lot better than at Bramall Lane especially if you like real ale and remember the Bars in the Stadium will probably be open for matches with regard to shops and eating outlets there is a KFC and Pizza Hut across the road and a Weatherspoon, Subway and lots of hot pork bab shops five mins away in Hillsborough (Owlerton is not really that close to the Middlewood shops)
With the right marketing Groupons, Children go for free and local leafleting with money off offers for matchday tickets, (I dont mind posting leaflets to houses in the Hillsborough area in lieu for a couple of free tickets) our attendances should increase this season my only concern with Owlerton is that the venue is set up to watch Greyhounds and Speedway where the action takes place at the paddock side however I understand we plan to build temporary seating on the far side but that will unlikely to have any cover and the terrace has been condemned as unsafe so not sure how building a temporary stand will get a health and safety certificate unless the terracing it is replaced/repared

| I doubt if anyone can come up with a marketing plan that we haven't already tried and failed with.
The fact is that gates are 40% of what they were 20 years ago.
