A rather sad statistic from least Friday's programme for the York City Knights match (page 13)...

Average attendance for Championship matches 2011 was 1118
Average attendance for Championship matches 2010 was 1228.

In other words we "lost" 110 spectators per match.

I know we only had about 650 for the game at MSM which had it been at BL or DVS might well have been around 1200 which would have pushed the 2011 figure up to around 1180 - still down on 2010.

The club may have ticked most of the boxes for Superleague but until it can tick the attendance box (2500?) then forget SL.

My reply was more due to the fact we know attendances are low, we know that's our main problem. We are trying to do things to try and boost that, the social media has improved greatly and I'm currently sat at the Eagles press day, another thing that we've done for the first time this season.

It's a working progress but hopefully the next couple of seasons will see improvements.
