Sometimes you also have to credit the opposition! Apart from the first try we clamped the ball carrier to prevent second and third phase play, were onto your backs quickly to prevent momentum and varied our attacks. We have been inconsistent this season but yesterday was a good performance.

There have been some strange results and performances so far this season, and I can only see more to come. Promotion and relegation has certainly put different pressures on top and bottom sides this year.

Not sure you've read my blog Dreamer, but I've said that you were the better side throughout and totally deserved the victory. Handforth pulled the strings magnificently and we couldn't handle him or your big lads.

It was ridiculously bad from our point of view though, didn't put up a fight at all and our no fear play seems to have seeped away since our move back to Owlerton. Owlerton is a terrible place for RL, we admit that, but it's that or leave Sheffield, and there's no chance we was going to reject a place in Sheffield over any outskirt area.

Are you saying that all the goodwill would've remained had those same results and performances happened at Don Valley ?

Those same results wouldn't have happened at Don Valley, there's a reason why we went unbeaten there last season, we played expansively and could kill teams off with ease in the first half. It's not a coincidence that quotes such as 'The attitude stinks' and 'I'm not coaching at the minute, I'm babysitting a bunch of schoolchildren' have arose this season from Tubby. The lads seem to be disrespecting the system, more at home than anywhere else.

I went off on a tangent then haha! To answer your question, the goodwill wouldn't have remained the same no, and the fans would have complained like they have done similarly to recent performances. I just think that the players entered Owlerton thinking all the hard work and goodwill created within the camp in past seasons had been undone, knowing the ground was hardly Championship standard, no mind any higher.

By the way, that's no excuse for any bad performances at Owlerton, we've not helped ourselves one bit and have had to rely on great away form to get us to a shoddy 7th.

Agree completely. Hirst being injured doesn't help us either. Tagaloa was obviously rated highly by Aston but hasn't been in the same league as Armstrong, yet. Szostak was one of the best backrowers in the league and made more successful tackles than anyone. Just got to keep sticking by the lads and hope with time comes good performances.

I also think we've had to adapt our game at Owlerton and its not working I think we still rely heavily on our back line and it's tough for the likes of Q to make breaks
