| Absolutely brilliant weekend despite the flight delay (I'd just said to Neil "at least I won't have to spend 8 hours in the airport like I did going to Perpignan", when the announcement was made - that'll teach me!) Interesting pricing policy in the taxis over there. 6 euros from our hotel to Chez Felix, about a 10 minute walk for me - and the same from Chez Felix to Stade Domec, probably two and a half times further! Nice touch by the landlord of Chez Felix to provide us all with a pint (or was it a litre) of Grimbergen before Saturday's game. Very nice with a massive lemon wedge. Honourable mentions to the landlady of the Celt for tuning into the Featherstone match on Sunday afternoon. Oh yes, and there was the small matter of the Eagles game. I thought it was a solid performance from our boys, given there were some changes to the team and some younger lads in there. It was always going to be a game of unknown quantaties and we handled it well I thought.
Then on Sunday, a trip to the old City was well worth it, to add a bit of culture to procedings. I could've spent all day and a lot of money in there. So, to sum up, the highlights; Chez Felix and the Celt for their hospitality and also the Carcassonne supporters and ground staff for the same, and Le Cite for the culture. Lowlights ; the 8 hour delay coming home and my dicky tummy on Saturday which came too close for comfort to stopping me going to ther natch. Maybe the large slice of Quiche Lorraine after 6 pints of Kilkenny the night before wasn't such a good idea!!

| I missed 2 tries fetching a cone of chips and more beer - I was only gone 2 or 3 minutes but knew who'd scored because of the chants.
There were 3 women (Brighton and Birmingham) on the outgoing flight who saw the team and supporters and were curious so they went to the Tourist Info Office to find out where it was and also attended the game.
Avignon 2013 anyone?

After the game I got to see the players close up at a function thing - Scott Turner looks mean, wouldn't want to bump into him in a well lit alley, never mind a dark one! Slapped Misi on the shoulder and nearly broke my hand. Simon Brown believes he's the best dancer in Leeds.
Hello and thank you to Sanjunien for all the empheria he handed me, [unever spotted you after the game[/u so I never got a chance to 'buy' you a beer!
'"
the others reckon you were hiding in the bogs !
went to the function thingy but only stayed for the free aperitifs - did you see the Catalan lads there ? ie:
Greenshields,Blanche etc ?
good concept for the game but the wrong time of year, in the LER off-season that is

| This appears to be the problem - it's a concept that's good on paper, but when do you run it? If it's now then the French teams are on a wind down, if it's after the English season then you'll have the same problem...

| I messaged the Chez Felix bar in French (but via google translator) thanking them for the hospitality while we were there and have had a nice message back saying that we are welcome to go back anytime.
I agree with HL the competition just needs a bit more thought of when they are played and the format etc.
Tubbs said he wasn't keen on going, seemed to me though that he enjoyed it enough on Friday night.
Tip for anyone going, if you have old shirts etc the locals do like to swap and Sanjunien always appreciates them.

| Quote Airborne Eagle="Airborne Eagle"Thanks for the gift Sanjunien and Mrs Sanjunien
Thanks to 'fax fans Steve and Mick for an entertaining weekend
Thanks to all the Eagles fans, players and staff for yet another great road trip.
Lee Sanders and Nathan Walmsley look good prospects and welcome to Sheffield Jack Latus'"
most welcome - just a souvenir of Limoges - anyone welcome to stay 'chez nous' anytime, just give us a couple of days notice by 'pm'
great to see the loyal fans yet again and a big thanks to Marty for making the effort to get down - it can't be easy so well done mate and look forward to seeing you again
yeah, the kids played well, just like the whole team but MA wasn't too impressed with the performance - they looked pretty good to me with the main thing being no one picked up any bad knocks ahead of the big one at the LSV - just goes to show the high standards the coach sets his club...
