| For those of you who haven't seen this month's issue, they have a feature on the Best 10 RL Grounds and the Worst RL Grounds. The New River Stadium features in the Worst Grounds section. Yes the pitch is across an athletics track, but surely it isn't THAT bad?

| The stand is terrible and the playing surface is crap. It is not even the right size of a footy field...in fact it is the shortest the ground in the comp.
It is just not a good ground to watch footy and needs redevelopment from the council.

| Also another fact is that New River have the worst dressing rooms also. The away teams have to set up in 2 dressing rooms just fit everyone in and do their strapping out in the corridor. Just not good enough.

| The last time I came up to see Skolars, the goalposts were rusty and bent. Have they got any better?

| the facilities as a whole are pretty shoddy - hospitality is a non starter, would be nice to be able to offer fans a reasonable standard of food. What the players get served with after matches is a joke. It would also be nice if the club had merchandise to sell, but then again where could they do that. I think that the only place i have been to that is worse is the navy seahawks down in portsmouth - there you turned up at a pitch somewhere in portsmouth depending on availabilty, changed into kit, played the game, got changed out of kit, went home.

| it amuses me that all people seem to want to do is have a pop! granted New River is not the perfect facility to play Rugby LEague in, but as the article in RL world said, the fact that top rugby league is played in North London is an amazing thing. The club do their best with what they have and in an area with no real tradition do an outstanding job in the community promoting the greatest game. Do you think the Skolars players particularly love new river? probably not, but they get on with it and make do. as unfortunately there is no sugar daddy waiting to build a new stadium. League is a minority sport down here, instead of having a pop at each other at any opportunity surely we should all help out and support the Skolars, and the game of league, to make it a success.
rant over

Mate, in order to succeed off the field you need to succeed on the field. That means playing at a decent ground and having a decent training facility. The club has to look at what is wants to achieve over the next 5 years and make this a club where players want to come and play. Atm, i am not sure the players heart are in it and I wouldnt be either when you are getting smashed by 70 points per game.
