These are 1 why was Duport out of position for one of their tries 2 Who through the idiotic pass to their right wing 3 why did they get that late penalty 4 why was our very late "try" disallowed ? Having said that my overwhelming feeling last night was that this was the worst result that I have seen from us-worse even than the loss to Wakefield at Newcastle in ,I think ,2016 and it was very hard to take

Ref said Knock on . The question is whether he was right. The other question was whether he was tricked into giving the crucial penalty. When Mcilorum and Casty are both missing -as in the first 20 minutes of the second half-we lose control .Duport is still a total liability.He has the slowest reactions of any back in superleague and cannot run more than 20 metres at his excruciatingly slow full speed . What has happened to him ? 6 years ago he was very fast.If Yaha is still suspended we must send for Thornley.All in all this is a vital defeat and our remaining fixtures are too difficult for us to escape our fate .

anyway it swings in round abouts.... you got the calls when we last played you in the cup believe me!! the ref gave them us this time...how it goes, we havent had much luck with the refs this season

At the game the first disallowed try was definitely offside I did notice that at the time, a Catalans player touched the ball which went forward on to the player who touched it down. The second one from Bird (knock-on) was his own fault he was pushing forward after the ref called held and lost the ball when playing it.
And Bird should be in front of the disciplinary for his antics when Huddersfield were taking their penalty. He was jumping about like a puppet on a string waving his hands and dancing side to side, the ref should have sent him off.

I am certain that Julien was not offside.The issue is whether the ball was knocked forward by Bird as he jumped then hit a Huddersfield player and rebounded to Julien . It is not easy to tell. All the Huddersfield fans that I know are certain that it was a try and are not backward about expressing their delight.

We shot ourselves in the foot.
From 18-0 and 24-6, we should not be losing. With a minute to go, a point behind and a set of six in the opponent's 10-metre area, you have time to have three or four cracks at the line and if that doesn't come off, set for an equalising drop goal. Instead, Bird went looking for a penalty that wasn't forthcoming. Idiocy.
The damage was done late in the first half, though. I don't know if we switched off mentally or anything, but it sure looked like it. Adam O'Brien poaching one from dummy half should have been cut out and from there the momentum shifted in their direction. They came out second half with a different mindset and we looked a bit stuck between sticking and twisting. We were poor in that second half and it shouldn't be acceptable.

McNamara is a problem and we're not getting the best out of Bird at the moment. I've not seen enough to say whether he's done or just not getting involved enough, but it's certainly a question that's lingering in my mind.
