This decision was one of the worst that I have ever seen and in 60 years of following Hull KR I've seen a few. I've seen decisions over the years where they were so bizarre against us I can only conclude that the referee has been bribed. A strong opinion I know but it has to be said. We never get the 50/50 calls. When there is something dubious then surely you give the decision to the defense. There were 2 other games that Kendall could and should have been given to officiate at. You should not be allowed to officiate a club for whom you have played for; supported or come from the same town. It stops any allegations of bias and cheating. Our home game with St Helens played at their ground let's see if our "away" fixture gets reversed! In the early 1980's we lost a cup game to Leigh to a last-minute penalty in front of the posts. The referee had travelled on the Leigh team coach! The RL is totally unprofessional and officiating is simply unfit for purpose. Until the referees are brought to account by being made to explain the rationale behind a decision the game is doomed I'm afriad.

The standard has been set now, obviously the knock on rule is being interpreted correctly. If the ball is not propelled towards your opponent’s end of the ground it’s play on. That now means that a player dropping the ball to the ground is not now ruled to have knocked on? That is a completely different ruling to what the rest of our game expects. Time for Kendall to be sacked.

Glad you got the result, as a Huddersfield fan i was cringing and certainly NOT shouting 'that's a try' for Mcqueens knock on, both VR decisions were totally wrong which 99% of people could see including Huddersfield fans. You have a decent side this year and should go ok.

You can possibly make a case for each of the two decisions individually, and that is how decisions should be assessed. The Linnett no try is a real stretch in my opinion, and Gaskell’s flop should have made it harder to overturn the on field decision. It’s one of those that the justification has to open with ‘Technically...’. The McQueen try was a 20-80, but I recall us getting one when Liam Watts scored for us a few years ago - maybe away at Castleford. That may have been before on field calls were sent up and it was still try or no try. The two together, both overturning on field decisions, from a VR from Huddersfield isn’t a great look.

Still, we won and I imagine there’s more than enough spite and bile about it on social media, so I’ll let it go.

Although we shouldn’t (imo) have been in that position, we dodged a bullet on the last minute strip. I did wonder if English was being cute and let it go a bit easily, and whether the same thought occurred to the ref. I also wonder to what, if any, extent the ref was aware that Kendall’s decisions might be consider ‘questionable’. We were playing with fire though! Nice not to get burned for once.

There were a few decisions went our way too but none as controversial as the Chris Kendall overrules .

You have a good team a good coach and a brilliant owner. I expect you'll have better times as the season progresses.

Can you extend that to Leeds Rhino games as we are not keen on him either . He is full of self importance , no doubt hence the reason he liked to turn around on field decisions . The first one was diabolical , the Midgets player had completely misjudged the ball and was a try all day , the second one well the rules need explaining to me on that one .

To me the whole thing has detracted from a great game & well deserved win. All we are hearing about is the referee. Not what the game or any club needs?

To be fair to the Referee, he was all for disalawwing the try, but he was told by the touch judge to go upstairs and review it.

Same as the disallowed try for Linnnet, if that was a normal game without the video, then that is Try time.
