| I believe his contract expires at the end of the season, this is not a Sheen out bashing, but what are your thoughts about it. Would you like him to sign an extension, offer him a new role and bring someone else in, or say our goodbyes and start with a new regime.
My thoughts personally are that although we play a lot more expansive and were in a fairly decent position then we could have been, I think Tim has come to the end of coaching, makes totally baffling line-ups and his substitutions leave the majority of the crowd scratching their heads.
He also seems very stubborn when trying to change a players position, like trying to change an out and out half back into a full back, or a back rower into a hooker, when its obvious to all it isnt going to work, yet he persists and persists.
I would not renew Sheens' contract and would make either Danny Ward of Broncos or James Ford of York my top picks for the Head coach position (every time I see York play, they play some really good Rugby and he will be very hungry to progress his career). I would also bring in a specialist out and out defence coach, someone who has had succes in this department previously.
Thoughts???

At the end of last season NH was.clear that it's our intention.to extend the contract by 3 years
https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/r ... ct-1972379?
“If the structure changes, the ability to plan improves so we need stability, and that comes from continuity. With that in mind, we are in an advanced stage of talks, talking in fine detail about an enhanced deal over a multiple-year period. We’re trying to nail down a contract for the next three years,” Hudgell told BBC Radio Humberside.
I see nothing has changed since apart from successfully keeping SL status. So expect an extension.

| In reality he should be judged from start of this season. Totally different format now and the year in Championship then last year was a matter of promotion then survival which he did achieve. This is his team and players now and the buck stops with him. Am I happy if he extends contract? Yes.But agree some of his decisions are hard to see logic in but his pedigree is as good as it gets. Powell is the only coach I'd want if Sheens retires but would cost a fair Bob.

| I’d stick with him. He’s delivered so far, and he impresses me when I listen to him.
Mind you, 3 years is a longish deal for any coach, and he is 68.
If Radford gets binned off over the river, I wonder if he could be tempted by a senior assistant role? With a focus on defence. Maybe not, and it might be too many generals. It’d be worth a thought though, imo.

I’d be happy to give him another contract I think your been a bit harsh regards players positions8 as Addy maybe a SR but has played all his career as a utility player and moving a half to full back is nothing new see Tomkins Lomax Ratchford etc (although I would prefer Atkin in the halves) Sheens has to deliver promotion which he did then keep us up which he did and no doubt we’ll improve this year

Fair points well made, however are you happy with the performances so far? Atkin is 26 now, and needs to start games in his natural position, my main gripe is that yes Tomkins etc have transitioned into different positions, but it is plain to see that Atkin is nowhere near good enough to play full back, the same as Lawler at hooker yet Sheens will continue to play them, to the detriment to both of the players and more importantly the team.

We haven’t been great games like yesterday should have been closed out personally I’d have Atkin in front of Drinkwater we needed another half with Maguires age but it’s like Sheens is trying to shoehorn Atkin in anywhere because he knows he shouldn’t have been dropped why at the same time playing Drinkwater as justification of the money been spent I could be completely wrong like as for Lawler he has to play maybe not at hooker though

| Getting a bit fed up now of watching mediocre rugby. Same old Same old! Nothing seems to change and we aint moved on in years. Im 50/50 on a renewed contract as other coaches with a lesser CV than Tim's have brought in better players. Sitting 5th now but bottom 3 within a couple of weeks.

| If he could sort out defence then for me he can stay, but missing 53 tackles against Salford doesnt suggest he can. 159 missed tackles in 4 games is pathetic. Do we a defence coach?

| Wow I really hope Grudgehull does give the wizard another three year contract. How many years would that make it since you’ve won a major trophy?

| My thoughts is his shrewdness has gotten and is keeping Rovers in SL.
I can't see him hanging around without money.

| Early days but not been convinced in any game so far. We just do not kill teams off which is a major weakness and has got to be addressed. Is it a mental thing? but we don,t see anyone cajoling the troops or shouting and driving them on, no one playing to the crowd, they all seem to relaxed. Wish we had a Clint Newton or Cockayne in the team. We need to get nasty and horrible to play against. Yes we are playing Super League teams, but we just seem too soft when it matters and are missing a killer instinct..not happy.

In terms of quality we’re [imaybe[/i a mid-table team. Which’d be an improvement on recent seasons.
I know I went off on one, in my own gentle way, at the weekend. And to lose after being 14 points up is painful. However, if we’d lost by 2 having been down by 14 at HT, i’d probably have been banging on about a slow start costing us. Losing needs rationalising in a way that winning doesn’t.
There may be a mental or cultural element to it, but in SL there are teams that are better than us, teams that are on a similar level, and then, trying not to be too disrespectful, London. I think that’s the bigger issue.
We showed decent mental fortitude in that last set in the derby, after all.

| Prior to the start of this season Sheens gave an interview to the Yorkshire Post and it seemed like he wanted to stay on for 2020 but the club had yet to make up their minds;
[i“What will be will be. Again, it’s out of my hands. You never say never and you want to continue. But it really comes down to what the club wants, what they see the future of the club is and that’s out of my hands.
[/i
rlhttps://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/hull-kr/hull-kr-s-potential-continues-to-fuel-the-passion-of-tim-sheens-1-9488341rl
There are teams like Wakefield & Salford who are spending less than Rovers but outperforming us I think that is why the board are unwilling to commit at this stage.
However Tim doesn't want to go back to Australia so it's only fair the club makes a decision in good time. Halfway through the season would seem reasonable.
