30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| Best performance in the league so far for me.
Shame we couldn't nil them.
Abdull again very good, Kavanagh, Lawler, Clark and Mulhern dominant in the pack and as soon as I started to slag Ellis off he threw a twenty five metre pin point cut out pass, also an excellent break for Greenwood's first try.
I'm not sure that the idea of playing Abdull (although he played well and defended with vigour) in the centre, Salter at second row and Blair at stand off is one I'd repeat. I wouldn't say it didn't work but I think the players are better off in their recognised positions.
The only disappointment was that having been promised the best pies in the league they'd blooming well run out by the time I got there at half time.

| Very happy with that. Scored some great tries, defended well, especially off our line...even our kicking game was improved.
My hamstrings are currently telling me that parking at the bottom of the hill wasn't the best idea...might know more about that in the morning.

| Good day out today, sound performance from Rovers for the full 80 for once. Batley under Diskin are gash mind.
Bonus was Toulouse dropping points unexpectedly as well. Let's see how we fair on Friday now.
Didn't get a pie either.

Toulouse struggled without Ford, kinda expected their match to be close today because of that. Toulouse, on the whole, are only really mildly better then the rest of the teams in this division, nothing special and not a worry to us as far as promotion is concerned.

Yes, this is the view of the one member of The Skein that could make it over to Toulouse. That they're pretty ordinary.
We've got this league, clearly.
What's encouraging about today is that we were ruthless. We looked to put Batley to the sword and that's the sort of intensity we'll have to have to get out of this division.

| Just watching the highlights, there were some BIG holes in Batley's defence for 2 or 3 of our tries - and on a narrow pitch as well. Still 4-68 is not bad going by any stretch.
Hopefully a sign that things are coming together for the challenges to come.

| Batley could learn a thing or two from their gang of marauding, bucket wielding, wide eyed five year olds who advanced in perfect lines & were near impossible to pass.

They were very at sea and not as organised as I thought they'd be, but that pitch, having played on it a few times many moons ago isn't that narrow.
I was a bit surprised that Brambani, who I always thought of as a decent half struggled to get his angles and distances correct.
The slope is still as terrifying as I remember from being a kid and having to run the ball out from the bottom corner. Indeed, having not got a pie from the two pie shacks I ended up back in that corner and endured a little shudder.

I forgot just how bad the slope was until visiting yesterday. There must be a difference of nearly 2 meters In height from that corner to the other end of the field, though it's still one of the finest surfaces in British RL.

| Was told the Batley players prefer playing uphill. Something about running downhill the body doesn't adjust to & more muscular injuries result.
