| Good morning Rovers fans!
It's years since I've visited your place, and I realise it has been superbly developed since then. (the new North stand looks awesome) I used to park on Preston Road (the dual carriageway near the stadium) - is it still possible to park there, or do you recommend the primary school (St Richards) mentioned on the Rovers official website, please?
P.S. Hopefully you have upgraded your floodlights since we used to visit you regularly?

Good advice, but beware a ton of liquid white bomb attacks from the Skein.

Where's 'Sue Downs'? Is that on Preston Road, near the ground?
My 'Print@Home' tickets have arrived, for the Roger Millward stand, and the hotel is booked. Never had an exotic weekend in Hull before!

| Sue downs is the chippy on the corner near the Red lion pub.
You'll have a good time mate. Hull gets a bad rap, but it's really becoming a place to visit these days.

Back in the late 70s, 80s and 90s they used to say that the only people who would visit Hull would be reps and relatives.
Now people even travel from all over to get their kit off for some yankee photographer weirdo. We even get about 20 or so Catalans supporters every year. How exotic is that?
It's also about 75 minutes from Pickering and Scarbados.

You're right. Even up to only ten years ago, Hull was a bit of a dump. There's been a monumental shift this last decade. I know people out of the city that come and visit, And the're always blown away how much it's changed. And keeps on evolving to. The fruit area is going to be massive for the city.

| Charlie clearly knows nowt about chippies as they should involve neither goose fat nor lard.
It should be dripping.
Next you'll be telling us the fish should be Cod.

Just to add to this...I'm a Leyther, been in York for 25 years and visited Hull a couple of years ago for a gin festival. That was held in the fruit market down on the docks. (?). If ever I've been at somewhere at the "cutting edge" then that was it ! I'm not sure my Mrs was knocked out by the place but I certainly was! I loved it and think it's a lot going for it. History etc was superb. We stayed on the Saturday night and sadly most of the museums etc didn't open until about 1pm on the sunday which was a real downer as we had to leave about 1.30...should I also say lovely train station at 1.30! I'm sure that the year of culture stuff will change that...hope so.
Sadly I think most of the leigh fans ( and other rugby fans) will never get the chance to see the town worth visiting! Barcelona? No...but well worth a weekend visit! If ever there was a undiscovered gem it's this place.

Have you been back since to visit the museums etc? If you're into that kind of thing then its a great day out (or longer if you want it to be), the history of Hull is diverse and fascinating.
I work and spend most of my time in Scotland these days. Every time I return to Hull (usually every couple of months or so) there have been new building erected, or roads repaired, or something has changed. There is alot going on for the City of Culture and whilst dodging barriers in the city centre is a pain in the ar*e just now, its going to be great when its all done.
The problem the area has is that it's reputation precedes it. People that have never been (or haven't been for a long time) like to mock the area and put it down. But you are proof that if we can get people to visit once, they will see what a little gem it is and will want to come back. Next year should go along way towards changing reputations if we do things right.
