| TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN. This is an advance warning for anyone going to the CC Cup Final at Wembley.
The unions have called a 2nd day 24 hour tube strike during the week leading up to the Wembley CC final designed to cause chaos in the capital for the Bank Holiday weekend getaway.
This strike will begin at 21.00 on Thursday 27th August and finish at 21.00 on Friday 28th August. It's possible it may be called off in the interim, so keep checking the news. My daughter lives and works in London and has first hand experience of the misery, chaos and disruption this will cause.
Anyone travelling to London by rail or car on the FRIDAY before the final or planning to catch a taxi or bus on the FRIDAY before the final when they get to London will be likely caught up in horrendous traffic jams on the roads all around the capital. This includes the M25 and North Circular. Similarly the tube will be slow for the first half of SATURDAY FINAL DAY due to the knock on effect as things get back to normal.
ADVICE IS TO BE AWARE AND ALLOW MORE TIME TO GET TO YOUR DESTINATION OR TO THE MATCH.
Good luck and hope you don't get too affected. Fingers crossed for a strike postponement.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| I f**king love a good strike ......Power to the people! ......Wolfie Smith would be so proud! ......Good luck tube workers, I hope you get what you quite rightly deserve.
This won't effect the rugby fans travelling to the capital. We will be either arriving on Friday or Saturday by train or coach and will be using the tube on cup final day .....I think the workers have planned it right and taken the travelling rugby fans into consideration .......Good luck with your endeavour, tube workers!

Have you seen the salary of a tube driver? Compare it to an A&E doctor and then tell me they don't get paid enough.
Starting Salary of a Speciality Doctor with the NHS is £37,176
Starting Salary of a newly qualified Tube Driver is £49,673
Also Tube drivers work on average 35 hours per week. Anything more and they get paid overtime.

Aye but bless em they don't see much sun.
Striking against night shifts Christ, care workers get an extra £1 an hour for night shifts. These shirkers don't know their born.

That's barely minimum wage in that London though. Its £14 a pint and £1.3M for a 2 bed terrace. Poor lambs.

Are you Arthur Scargill's lovechild?
I see you haven't bothered to read the effing detail in my initial post either, so if you are one of those fans who travel down on Friday and get off the train, then you will need a second mortgage for the taxi fare to the hotels after a 2 to 3 hour wait for one. It's likely coach passengers travelling down on Friday will need to get used to staring at tarmac for an extra few hours, cork it up or just pee in their pants.

Also the Tube Drivers get 43 days paid holiday a year too and have been offered an extra 2k per year for working these shifts on weekends only. Unlike police and nurses, they have negotiated above inflation wage increases. In London, it seems the court of public opinion is firmly against them. I wonder why.

| Strikers should be regarded amongst people found guilty of treason, bestiality or supporting Hull by all others in society.

I guess you could just walk to your hotel and enjoy the sights on the way ......That's what I'll be doing when I step off the train at Kings Cross ......Do you remember walking, or are you too old to do that now? ......If so, my apologies!

| How anybody can support this strike is beyond me! It's disgusting and completely unjustified when you compare it to what people in the NHS/ Armed Forces / Emergency Services have to put up with, and what they get in return.

[quote="The Reason":3e09qe5x]Hi Andy
The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.
Regards,

They should have joined a union.
