KR First Into the Semi-Finals The league counts for nothing when the Cup comes to town, and tonight it was making its first appearance of a two night run in Hull, as KR had a battle royal against the poor-travelling Catalans Dragons with a place in the semi-finals the glittering reward for the winners.
The Dragons haven't won outside France since the beginning of April and would need to take their excellent home form to Craven Park to take on a a Robins side who have put in some massive performances against decent opposition, often belying their current league position.
The bookies and the pundits could choose little between the sides and a decent crowd anticipated the kick-off of a game that was too close to call.

| Wow what a nail biter! Hull KR certainly are heart attack material aren't they....
After a perfect 1st half we soon fell back into our old ways of giving away DUMB penalties....why??
Thankfully we had enough points on the board to squeeze through.
Keen to know your thoughts on the Ref. Did he get a French dressing down at half time?
COYR...bring on Tuesday ....

| It does make you wonder, the Cats coach pacing the touchline giving Gallic grief to Kershaw and any RFL official who would listen, having a pop at Bentham as he left the field at half time and what do you know, a near perfect discipline in the first half becomes a penalty fest in the second half.

| Rovers had fifty fifty chance of beating the Dragons last night with Bentham the referee for that is the average of games they have won when he has been the official, it was published on this site a while ago someone looked at the stats

If we pulled up all the stats on each ref that had reffed one of our Super League games we would most probably find the stats show that we have lost more than we have won with each as I'm sure Wigan, Leeds and Saints would all have more favourable % as they win more.
If we looked at our stats for Bentham then we would most probably have had less than a 50/50 chance of winning. So really we were at a disadvantage ref-wise before the game began

| Glad to get a result, was a bit squeeky bum time at the end. I just get anoyed with some of the refing descisions, the cats got the rough end of a couple of calls & we got the bad calls in the second half. How do they decide which rule they are going to apply or which try they will refer? ( Josh may have been offside on one try) we where ruled offside when the tv showed we were not, it just makes everyone angry & confused. Graham Horne got hit with two high shots & nothing was done, yet he was pulled up for a perfectly good tackle. & they scored soon after. If they are trying to let the game flow by selectively penaliseing it is wrong every offence should be blown up regardless of the effect on the match (players will soon get the hang of the rules)

| We have 2 refs here in Oz and bloody 3 hour video replays in every game. Trys are very rarely given even when it's obvious, they are always sent to the video ref. It slows the game down painfully. Superleague is much better to watch in regard to this. You have free play and the game flows, it's great.
I guess consistency is all we ask for. Don't penalise one team for something and not the other. I thought in the 2nd half we were being held down far longer than they were. Perhaps I am just being one-eyed. There were a couple of stupid penalties we did give away. But I don't think we got as many as perhaps we should have.
Anyway, we won, that's the main thing!!!!

| Freakish how similar this game seems to have gone to a Newcastle V Newtown game in NSW cup last year.
In that game Newcastle got an early lead, and Newtown, inspired by Dureau, came back to nearly win.
The difference in that game was that Mantellato was perfect with the boot and Dureau missed several.

| as a Hull FC fan, I'd like to congratulate you, your team WANTED to win, FC on the other hand looked largely disinterested in our game. I hope in a way we finish outside the 8 and it exposes Radford for the useless coach he is. Seems to me our "sleeping giant" is on a diet of Cocoa and Valium.

| Wire it is then. No easy draws but probably the one we'd pick.
