| I think it's a joke, the richer clubs who are pushing the boundaries of salary cap even with players wives doing cleaning jobs to make up wages will lap it up, and will (if they get the right player and they don't get injured) just widen the gap on the lower teams. The poorer team who can just about afford to hit the cap will have to either stay as they are, or risk a weaker squad for a marquee player. The Rfl have yet again kicked the lower clubs and the fans in the teeth. I for one think it is a bloody stupid idea, but you would think if the clubs have voted for this, then at least 7 of the 12 must agree with the mad doctor. The question is, would I view it differently if I was a Wigan fan?

| Rumour has it that Rovers voted in favour of this. I can't fathom out why, unless we are planning on throwing 250K at Aaron Ollett.

They have just said on the radio (sports talk) that Rovers voted for it so the club must have something or someone in mind.

| Well some fans of certain clubs seem in favour.with one wigan fan saying saying the bottom feeder clubs now let the big clubs drag the league back up.
May,be he will be happy when they have to play each other 8 times to make up the season?

| Campo or lunt maybe? Surely they wouldn't be on more than the £175k though would they?

einstien said insanity is when a person does the same thing over and over again but expects a different result: |

| I'd scrap the salary cap it's pointless it hasn't stopped the big clubs winning everything and it didn't stop clubs going bust

| I'd rather we made use of the existing loopholes to sign 2 or 3 good players, rather than wazz it all on one big earner - if we're suddenly cashed up. We saw with Mason that crowds hardly leapt up for a 'name signing'.
Another possibility is we get support for something that matters to us, in return for our support on this, I guess.

You would hope not, only really worth doing for either a top local player (Not sure either Hull or Rovers have one currently) or a real superstar like Slater, Burgess etc.

I can't see rovers having the sort of cash to attract a real superstar of the game so i wondered if ours was a strategic vote for example if campo is on £250k a year already and we now classed him as our marquee signing (stupid name that is), then we could get 75k of that taken off our cap and could invest a extra 75k into another player or players,
I'm not ITK on what salaries a RL player gets so all of that was examples on how we could use the marquee rule

It's a story concerning Tony Larvin and private jets. Siemens hotels and Russian Oligarchs. You just couldn't make it up.
Essentially, we voted against it to attempt to scupper Evil Tony's plan to pay Sonny Bill 2m per annum, funded by roubles smuggled in by one of the oligarchs daughters (or a more popular theory is in the shells of wind turbines). Sonny Bill will be put up in the Siemens Hotel, the worlds first rival to the Burj al Arab.

I'm not sure either Hull or Rovers will have any players on over 175K.
