Even if he did have a British, eu or Kolpak passport, if he didn't come through the system at a European federation club he shouldn't be an option. Exceptions have been made for players born in the UK though - Finnigan and the Hendersons iirc.
I think we're done with recruitment for now - Unless a fed-trained hooker becomes available and given the shortage of quality across the league, I won't be holding my breath.
Do you have an opinion on SL's non-federation rule Roopy? Put simply, each club can only have seven players who learned the game outside of Europe. It used to be five, but there were still a lot of players exempt, as they were here before the rule came in to effect.
I thought five was overly protectionist (or would have been if they'd held to it) but seven I'm okay with. I don't think it'll make that much difference to England's international prospects, as the issue is too big to be 'solved' with bits of fiddly rule-making. But, I do think it goes some way to maintaining an identity for the game here, stopping us becoming just 'NSW Cup-Europe' (no offence).
