For a brief time I would like to lay down the cross city banter and rivalry and announce the sad passing of my uncle - Colin Young.

He was an avid supporter of Rovers all his life, supporting through the good times and the bad!

He was undoubtedly one of the biggest supporters of the club and in memory of him I would love to arrange something in his memory; such as a mention on the first home game of the season?

He was a very well known man and seemingly touched many people in his his life and I imagine equally so in his death.

He died doing one of the other things he was passionate about in his life, by going on his many many holidays, sadly ending up on life support having had a significant heart attack out in Uruguay, eventually losing his fight for life. He was my uncle and he will be missed massively.

I can't believe how many DVDs and programmes one man can have on one sporting club!

Sorry for your loss mate, both my grand parents ashes are spread at Craven park. If you get in touch with the club I'm sure they'll do everything they can to help you.

We wasn't aware until the funeral and talking to friends that he apparently generously gave to the youth development at the club too.

Not been on here for a while so apologies for not posting sooner, although it was also on the unofficial forum. So very sorry for your loss. Colin stood just on the other side of the aisle to us in the East Stand until he moved to the north last season. We often chatted prior to games and also shared a love of photography, the last time I saw him he gave me a dvd of photos he'd taken on a safari, which I still have. Will certainly miss seeing him at games as I'm sure many will. I hope the club can sort out a fitting tribute to Colin.

you certainly knew my uncle then. photography, rovers, fishing and holidays was his life and with his failing mobility i think the north stand suited him better.

we are hoping the club can pay tribute to him, they said they will make an announcement before the leeds game.
he deserves that at the very least.
