| Just read he could be another one with baggage Peter Sterling urged the Eels to get rid in March this year said he was a troubled guy whatever that means having said that he has had good season this year with them

| Cant see it, he is reported to be on over 500K AUD, he has two years left on his contract that would take up a 5th of your salary cap, despite his form and troubles he would still be a much sought after player in the NRL.
More chance of Carney, but I reckon that's also unlikely.

| Sandow could be a great player in the ESL, but he has poor defence and goes off script far too often for the NRL.
He's a bit like Jamie Soward in that he has great attacking skills that can turn a match in the blink of an eye.
I don't think many NRL clubs want him though, because he is more a gifted individual than a good team player.

I cant see it either but I couldnt see Luke Walsh coming over, maybe some of Sandows wage will be picked up by is current club ala Walsh It costs nothing to dream.

| Top quality half backs don't play for pocket change.
Sandow is top quality.
I for one would not give a hoot how much we had to pay him.

If we lose keating we'll be recruiting a 6,7 & 9 for next year. Finding 3 quality players for those positions would be tough. I'd keep keating, try him at 9 and try to find a decent 6 from somewhere. Haven't got a clue from where though.

Wish sandy hadn't let hall go,there is plenty worse than him at off half. Bad decision IMO.

I don't see the point in 'trying' him in another position after he's failed in his primary role. We tried but it failed. Time to get rid and recruit players who are actually familiar to their roles. Not hope another position suits them better.

Can we afford to pay him off and still recruit a top replacement? Can't remember how long keating is under contract for. I'd rather keep him and recruit one decent player than bin him, pay him off and recruit 2 average ones due to lack of funds.

He's on $A550k which is about £300k.
Eels are prepared to significantly subsidise that and offered him to Brisbane cut price. So Rovers would have to pay not much more than the £180k per year Ellis is getting at Hull. Even with the subsidy Brisbane were not interested.
Sandow has a history of gambling problems and tends to do his own thing on the pitch like chip & chase on the first tackle which is frowned on in NRL. When he signed for Parramatta he was hailed as their best half back since Peter Sterling but now they are very keen to move him on.
Even so he has produced some brilliant performances not least when covering at full back for Jarryd Hayne recently.
I said a while ago that in my opinion Neil Hudgell would not let Burns go for nothing and would not let him go unless we had someone of similar or better quality to replace him. I remain of that view and although entirely different players Sandow would be an incredibly exciting alternative to Burns.
Let's hope it comes off and with Miller counting as federation trained it doesn't rule out the option of him coming along for the ride too.

| Hey, lots of guess work there such as Ellis salary, Eels paying some of his salary and i haven't seen anywhere official they tried of offload him to Brisbane.
Also how does Miller count as non fed?
Id be amazed if you sign him, it would be the biggest signing in your history and one in SL.
More chance of Miller and Lee.
