Interesting piece about the club focussing more on youth; employing more people, investing more money and what have you. Also we've moved up a rung from 4 to 3 on the RFL independent assessment thing. A metric I remain somewhat cyni... skeptical about, wherever it is applied. But if nothing else, it means we're a deal less likely to miss out on ring-fenced central support for the academy, I reckon (hope). If they move forward with that proposal.

| I'm glad to hear the scouting set up is going to be improved, as I was told by a parent of a lad now at Fcs academy that he was there because our scouting was non existant. we have to find them to be able to coach them!

| The 19s got hecky thumped 12-60 last night.
Maybe we could try double bluffing rather than tempting the fates with our news stories and sound bites!

| “We also have Brice Johnson taking charge of the strength and conditioning for the U19s".
This is the main thing for me having an ex-NRL Physical Performance Coach (Strength & Conditioning) at Sydney Roosters in charge of physical development of this age group because last season's mullering at home to Wigan showed how much we were lacking in this area.
It could be a critical factor in persuading youngsters to sign.

we've been in SL long enough now to have caught these teams up academy wise if you ask me. I think its more of a financial reason why we haven't.

Absolutely. As they're constrained by the cap rather than just money for their first team budget, then it is both possible and sensible for them to pump resources into this area.
For all that I think their player development is a tiny bit overhyped, looking at what Cas do/spend would be more realistic, perhaps.
Good to see the 16s got a result!
