I'd have resigned him on a pay as you play deal. If he gets over this injury he'll be relatively fresh next year. Always looked good when he got on the park but just never managed to do it enough. Frees up probably up to 100k for a player who'll manage a game next year.

No doubt he has been a very good player,but as always at 30+ a calculated risk which unfortunately has not worked out. Good luck for the future.
