| Surely today's result must point to a contract extension for sandy? Take away the emotion of your pummelling by wigan and you've hot more points than you'd have expected by now surely? More than 50% win ratio, beating bigger clubs in wire, Hull and saints, convincing wins against widnes and london with only really the salford game being the blot on the copy book. If the wigan score had of been kept below 50 then I reckon he'd be sitting pretty by now. Good performances in your next 2 games must surely lead to his contract being extended?

Needs at least a three year deal.

| Agree CW.
He's got 6 wins from the last 9 games despite being hit by a long list of injuries and suspensions.
The most encouraging thing for me is that our young players are improving and he's starting to get our young homegrown players in the side and not only playing in the side but actually making a contribution to winning games. I'm talking about players like Salter, Cox and Beaumont as well as a few other young players like Walker, Griffin, Carlile who are also contributing to the side.
Admittedly we'r still gonna have the odd poor performance which comes with the territory of having a very young side but I'd give him a 3 year deal and let him get on with it.

In the equivalent games last season Rovers accumulated 11 points, this time 12.
We won at Huddersfield last year so if we don't do it again next week (and I think you said we won't) then we'll be a point worse off than last year from the same fixtures. A point worse off than last years 10th placed team.
Unfortunately with people like you it is hard to tell if you are making a serious point or just making mischief in the light of your own unachieving team. Giving you the benefit of the doubt I'll assume the former and say if results are the only criteria then surely the jury is still out for Sandercock.
But all that stuff misses the point completely.
Sandercock was appointed with a brief of identifying, developing and nurturing young British players, slowly changing Rovers from an overseas heavy squad (necessary and inevitable in the past but ultimately unsustainable) to a predominantly British self sustaining Super League force.
Sandercock is a brilliant one on one coach, workaholic obsessive, awkwardly adapting to the role of the public face of Hull Kingston Rovers. Up to me I'd extend his contract here and now because I think he is planting the seeds of growth whilst personally developing himself.
Even so, results don't back up his case at this time. Whatever you say we are slightly better/worse than last year depending what happens at Huddersfield.

Zod , that was , without any doubt at all , the worst Hull KR v St Helens game i have seen in 37 years of watching professional RL , if you and Mr Brown and Mr Sandercock are happy with that then please take the game with you and give it it the last rites over your morning Cafe Latte...you will soon be in a very small club...
I got more enjoyment from watching blokes, part time pretenders, who got about 100 quid a week if they won then watching this overpaid show of garbage and the overpaid attendant circus that is taking the mick out of East Hull...Hull K R has been slowly strangled and milked and will NEVER , EVER attain its former glories , thankfully i witnessed them and retain it in my brain til i succumb to Alzheimer's or Zodheimer 's , i know which i would prefer...
Never thought i would witness the death of pro RL in my lifetime but it is arriving...

| CS gets my vote, however I cannot see contract talks starting in the immediate future now NH has made it clear he (and RC) are standing down.

You obviously didn't attend the 2006 Challenge Cup semi final.

We were great for a bit in the nineteen twenties, then pretty much rubbish for the next forty years so really, anything could happen. That crystal ball you're using to see into the future seems a pretty pessimistic one.

Your evidence for this frankly outlandish claim is?

| Im moving away from Craig due to the fact he plays busted players, again this week he states Con Meeks shouldnt have played but Con put his hand up ?
If a player is unfit/injuried he should not play end of.
What makes it worse is the fact it was a neck/back problem Con has.
I cant understand this i really cant.
Player welfare is far more important than playing in a game IMO.

| There does seem to be a lot of knee-jerk reactions here, from both side of the argument. Surely with no threat of relegation and whilst Neil is searching for additional investment, the best plan is to leave CS in place and review the position at the end of the season.

Depends. What's more interesting is why do you and the OP care? it's not your club. Have I ever expressed an opinion on the Hull board regarding the coach? No, 'cos I'm not interested, it's nowt to do wi me.

A more than competitive squad of players that could all play together for the next 5 seasons.
Sandercock is establishing a very strong foundation from which the club can build by signing young and where possible, British, players. Our player turnover in coming seasons should be very low indeed.

Problem we may have is squad retention. You have players like Paea who is still only 26. He has his best years in front of him but is out of contract at the season end. The guys a machine and on Sunday will reach 40 consecutive appearances for Rovers. Now Paea would make a good signing for most teams in SL so we need to get him signed up to a new deal. Problem is with the questions over who will be at the helm of Hull Kingston Rovers next year does it make people like Paea reserved about extending his deal. Even Sandercock will be unsettled and it's my opinion that Sandercock will prove to be the right man at Hull KR and take us forward in the coming years.

| Whilst we have no head coach or even backers/plans for next season, squad retention is more or less impossible. We need both areas sorted asap to move forward.
