Well if he wants out then we should ask for compensation.

I think everyone is missing the point. If we want to build from youngsters, this is one we don't want to let go. We need to find out why he wants to leave and try and sort it out or else we'll end up like Cas.

Forget compensation, just refuse his request and then if someone comes forward they pay a transfer fee. That's the system, if sulky Watts doesn't like that, tough, nobody forced him to sign a contract. Year and a bit left on his deal, so a hefty fee should be ours. It's hard to say how much he would command, using Westerman as a calibrator, Watts would be worth £1,000,000!

Giving a contracted player permission to talk to other clubs doesn't necessarily negate compensation.

One would expect Liam's new club to settle any severance due on his Rover's contract - similar to how Scott Wheeldon's early release was negotiated with the Broncos.

So what you are saying Paul is that London paid up his Rovers contract then paid him a wage until the end of the season?
