Since I have followed Hull 1988, I bet we have finished above you about 75% of the time.

As it stands the only other clubs situation this season I would swap is Wigan.

I mentioned the last 5 years as not to dig deep into the past as your supporters firmly believe we live.

Consistently apart from last season, you mean? You have still achieved nothing unless finishing above Hull is your definition of success.

I see no reason to be jealous of the likes of Huddersfield, Saints or Catalans although I guess you could add Wigan to my list.

So your not jealous of the success that Saints have had in SL or even Bradford for that matter?

The reason we, Rovers fans, love winning a derby is because all the monotonous Hull fans (sweeping statement implied at the ones who fit the criteria) frep off for a little while, leaving us free of our mental weariness.

Lovegrove and griffin doubtful.

Paea went off injured against Wigan. Withers is banned. Brown, Horne and Paterson have been missing for the past few games. Welham and O'Hara wont play this season. Griffin played for Gateshead last weekend i believe, is a possible. News on Rhys. Shall we use it as an excuse now?

We'll be struggling to compete up front then, I fear. Shame, because it'd be a big 2 points for us. Still, you never know, dig deep, give their all etc, etc.

Another option might be to put Burns to 9, J. Hodgson to 13 and use Hall at 6. With Brown out though, that'd mean a recall for Caro.

Hull Win for me. All our performances have come from a good go forward and without Paea I don't think we'll be able to match Hull's pack.

Hope I am wrong, but I think Rovers will edge this one, something like 30-24.

Paea possibly missing would be massive blow (for him and us) and could be the tipping point. But we've gone into a few derby games as the favourites on the back perceived/expected forward dominance. Yet, come game day it's been a complete different story.

Forget the forward battle for now, we need to combat Hull's effective scooting, kicking and territory tactics. If Hull are effective in these areas, they can be pretty hard to break down. For us, controlled discipline around the ruck will go a long way to helping our chances.

Aye, shutting Houghton down is a major priority, he usually kills us in derby games.

I think the team which has the better kicking game will win this one.

Dobson, in the past has really punished Hull (and other teams) with his all round kicking game.

Holdsworth and Houghton are both on form with the boot.

Will be interesting

Hopefully a good, competitive game with the winners being decided by performance and not by officials. A good pre-Wembley workout for some of our younger players.

I'll wait until the teams are announced before making my prediction, until then i think its a bit premature to start predicting a Hull fc win.
In fact, given the history of derbies and the total unpredictability of them, i think i will resist the temptation of having a bet on this one.
