You never saw them play?
not guaranteed any signing is going to work out!

Not in the last couple of seasons when one was playing in France and the other working the bins.
All signings are gambles but some are higher gambles than others as we have found out in the past.

So you are basically saying that our gambles are no hopers but any gamble made by FC are gambles worth taking. I get it now.

| Quote: Dave K. "Fair point but bit of a difference in typing the wrong name then making things up about a player being a reject, point still stands though, Bailey has been poor for the last couple of years the fact Leeds have released him when they aren't blessed with loads of props plus keeping Kirke over him tells it's own story.'" tells me that Kirke is a much smaller burden on their salary cap. I bet you can't find a Leeds fan who rates Kirke over Bailey.

Full team? In an attempt at parity, I will give you Dixon (due to injury only), Mantellato & Boudebza (limited top flight experience). What other signings are gambles in your opinion?

| Your two new halfs, one who has rarely played halfback and the other who great talent, but has been a nightmare off the field for ever club he has played for ( plus his injury problems)
When was the last time Goulding played, was he injured last season.
Plus a prop who has been poor for the last two years.
I'm not saying these won't work out, as has been mentioned previous sometimes these work out, but lots of gambles for Rovers, I think Chester knows this especially the halfs and the reason he is still trying to sign another halfback.

Because I'm a rugby league fan as well as a Hull fan, it would be pretty boring if rival fans can't come on here to debate about rugby.

I for one am not expecting miracles in 2015. I think, given that Rovers either had to or have chosen to completely overhaul the squad, that recruitment has been pretty good in a challenging market.
Even though we finished a disappointing rather than disastrous 9th last season, the wheels came off. I don't know any details, but it seems clear there were 'issues' and a bit of a happiness deficit around the place. A bit of normality and continuity is what is needed first and foremost. HKR could do a Cas 2014, but so could other potential dark horse clubs - if everything goes right, which is rare indeed. If it's a bumpier ride, IMO finishing outside the 8 at rnd 23 isn't necessarily as catastrophic as some seem to think.
Depends on how the team fits together, but I think we'll end up with the components to make a half-decent season a very realistic possibility.

| Quote: Dave K. "Your two new halfs, one who has rarely played halfback and the other who great talent, but has been a nightmare off the field for ever club he has played for ( plus his injury problems)'" Blair may have limited game time as a 6 in recent seasons but he's more than capable of playing the position, particularly in SL having coped there in the NRL. A significant upgrade on Keating. Kelly's off-field issues are more related to his younger (pre-fatherhood) days. the latest suspension being due to collective offences by Cronulla 3 seasons ago. His injury record is a concern though.
Quote: Dave K. "When was the last time Goulding played, was he injured last season. '" He played 16 times last season until he got injured at the end of July. He'd already been announced as joining us by this point so never re-appeared in the 1st team after his injury. I have no concerns over this signing at all.
Quote: Dave K. "Plus a prop who has been poor for the last two years.'" Poor in your opinion, I'll take that with a pinch of salt. How many times have you watched him in the 2 year period?

All signings are a risk. When you're lot signed holdsworth who at the time was one of the stand out halves I was sure he'd go really well fot you but it never worked out. The key thing for me is last year we had a numbrr of what would be considered top playrs who either hardly played or never worked out. Hopefully this year it will be a case of playing as a team and we'll see some more coherent play. One thing chezzie wont be able to say is its not his team

Bloody hope not, I remember a couple of years ago, heplayed for london at cp and was absolutely gash, looked uninterested and only got involved when a cheap shot was on. Never made a run up hardly all game.

Not bad as a 4th prop IMO he may come into his own with an actual crowd cheering him on unlike at hudds and London
