A fresh start will probably make him a very good signing for Hull FC. I'm sure he'll be a handful when he meets us in the derbies.

Quote: gingerspice "It really is a shame about wattsy cos he has the potential to be a great player however he seems to be one of these players that whichever club he starts at he's grt for a season then he gets comfortable and ruins it by becoming lazy and not respecting the club, can he change who knows, I think he got away with a lot under Morgan and he can't under Craig and I certainly don't think he's gonna pull the wool over gentles eyes cos at the minute gentle is not the man to mess with at fc.'"

A factor which cannot be overlooked is how the ten-month police investigation hung over him. During this period his form dipped and now we can surmise his commitment to Rovers.

I might be wrong but somehow I think Liam has struggled to come to terms with how he was idolised one minute, and then with all that happened after that crazy night out he fell from grace. To go from one extreme to the other in a short period of time isn't easy for anyone. Perhaps being at Rovers is a constant reminder of this?

In many ways the psyche can be eased if you remove the angst. Thats why I think it is for the best Liam moves on. With hindsight, perhaps Rovers should have got rid at the same time as Charlie.

Apart from Webster's brief appearance.

Who was the last player that we signed from Rovers?

I honestly think it's been years, the last player I remember signing was a winger, in the early 90's I think. Gary Clarke?

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle. Frederick Douglas:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_30596.jpg

Garry Clark, the eighties winger who also had GB caps? Don't think he ever played for Hull.

I suppose the last one, sort of by default was Stan.

Was a direct transfer though.

I'm sure Gary Clarke signed for Hull at the end of his career for a brief stint?

Is there likely to be a transfer fee involved given Watt's current contractual obligations?

Clark did play for Hull. Lee Richardson did a short stint there after leaving us aswell.

I dont count Stanley because he signed for Gateshead and had no idea that they were about to takeover the old Hull FC club.

Seeing how Rovers have agreed to let Liam leave I don't think there will be a transfer fee, although there will be some sort of financial arrangement.

Liam wasn't on anything like big money at Rovers, so knowing Dave Howe he will be trading Liam off with the bidders, which might well see Liam banking a much improved contract and a signing-on fee.

It's a shame he's leaving, but no great loss, his form has been patchy this season. I'm not sure he's as good as either of the 2 players at Hull he maybe replacing, time will tell I guess.

I have no idea why I get involved in threads involving facts, I barely pay attention to today's team!

Yeah, I suppose, that's why I said by default.

Watts is , and will only ever be , an average Super League player.
No big loss.
