Agreed. I've been fortunate enough to see my team in Cup finals and Grand finals and the build up is excitement mixed with a few nerves.
The MPG is completely different. It was just awful. The week leading up to it and the day is just filled with dread. I didn't enjoy one minute of the game. Even had we won i would have been saying the same. It's just an awful experience and it's even worse if you lose
I wish you luck!

| Agree with above 2 posts - horrible week and awful game to attend. No pleasure in the process at all. Having been there last year and won, you would think that would make it a pleasurable experience? Not at all, a bit of short term relief maybe (sorry Matron!), but that's about it. Relegation battles over a full season I have lived with and even enjoyed, because the rub generally works itself out equally over 8 months. The MPG is just a terrible example of a marketing persons concept of a 'thrilling idea'. I won't be watching it, don't take any pleasure in seeing other people's disappointment - and just watch how much the cameraman seeks out younger supporters on the losing side, hoping to find some inconsolable fan shedding heartfelt tears at their favourite teams demise.
Not for me, Sky and the RFL can stick their MPG where the satellite dishes won't pick up the signal.
Good luck to the Robin's, either way it will be all over this time next week and that isn't a bad thing at all.

That very much strikes a chord.
Whatever happens we'll have some different problems/challenges/opportunities ahead. Even if they're not the ones we'd choose, at least they'll be new.

got say agree with all that one up one down with 14/ 16 teams in SL is the way forward what you do over a full season is what matters not one game or one ref decision, increase the money in the top league from sky and stop settling for scraps from sky we have the best sport on TV we just don't sell it for what its worth hence the reason we have crap like this for TV

| The team which wins the championship should automatically promoted, leigh should have been promoted last season and fully deserve their place in S/L hopefully not at our expense. If we want a play off system let them create one,but the championship winners should be promoted, also the super 8 system is a waste of time, cas, widnes and wakey were basically just making up the numbers and despite cas having a good super 8s and taking 10 pts out of 14 and having the 2nd best number of points, they have finished 9 pts away from the top 4.It makes no sense basically playing for not very much.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| This is the system we've got and one we've all been playing with all year, so, it is what it is.
However, having spent a total of one week at the bottom of the table in ten years, finished above Huddersfield in the regular season and above Salford in the rubbish eights it'll feel extremely harsh if we lose on Saturday.

| As a Wakefield fan who was at the MPG last year I can confirm it is horrible. Yes we won but it was close and my celebrations were more a sense of relief than achievement.
As a neutral I think it is too close to call, I personally hope you guys win but i think it will be decided by only a couple of points.

| While I can definitely understand why Rovers fans are bricking it (and I would certainly be doing the same in your place) I really do think that you'll win comfortably. Salford have looked completely shot for weeks now and it would take a miraculous improvement in form for them to win at the KCL in front of a hostile crowd.

Have had the sinking feeling since we appointed Webster to be honest, so a win will be brilliant but a defeat will not (in my eyes) be unexpected. Whatever happens, I will still go and enjoy my rugby.

Even if we were a lot better than Salford (which we're not - they won 10 games in the first part of the season), anything can happen in a one off game. We've lost to Oldham and taken a point off Warrington at home this season. It cuts two ways, and we've got a chance - but it will likely come down to chance, to some extent. Things might even up over the course of a season, but over 80 minutes they often don't. A couple of calls going against us or an early injury, and we'll be struggling - over and above our normal struggling.
No complaints, over the season we haven't been good enough to avoid this situation.
I'm not bricking it though. I'll be delighted if we stay up and I'm acutely aware of the challenges the club would face outside the top flight. But on Sunday, the cycle of hope for a brighter tomorrow starts again. IMO, since promotion, we've had 5 enjoyable seasons, 4 that had their moments, and 2016. To adapt a recently popular sentiment from the Hull board, I'd have taken that at the start of 2007.

| What I can not get my head round is If we get beat we may still have a better points for and against then salford but we still go down but if salford and rovers have won the same amount of games and we had better points salford would play london not us If you get what i mean

| so you would have taken the possible relegation after 11 years in SL? strange one I thought after 11 years you would have wanted to have done better than that,
