Why dont we just give the Exciles an england shirt instead and have done with it?

He is not the only player being looked at. MAC has appointed a scout/admin guy to see who else we can get in the team. Full backing of the RFL and the Etheringtons.

With Widdop, Brough, Gaskell, Lomax, I'm not sure we should even be looking to have Chase in the team. Great individual player at SL level, not sure he'll shine at international level.

I'd be going with Widdop at stand off and Brough at scrum half with Gaskell and Lomax for the future, irrespective of where people were born.

Brough nailed his colours to scotland - therefore shouldnt be allowed to come back to play for England.

But unless we're going to get some sort of unilateral agreement (which if the RFL and NRL got their act together you'd thin wouldn't be that hard) then we're always going to have this sort of thing.

Uate is probably the world's beat winger at the moment, he played for Fiji at the last world cup and will turn out for Australia at this one.

FWIW, I agree with you, if you've played at senior level for an international team then that's your nationality for the rest of your career.

The few posts on this thread show that the majority of people want that.

I think it is good that he is in the squad. It gives us more competition in the halves. However, I do agree that once you play for a country at Senior level that should be it.

I think it would be interesting to see if we could get a possibles vs probables game eventually, including the foreign born/based players. Perhaps we will then see whether or not the 'foreigners' are an improvement. If they are then so be it.

I agree that you shouldn't be allowed to keep changing which country you play for, but Rangi Chase hasn't played For NZ before. He's eligible for England and has said he will apply for duel citizenship when he's allowed. He lives over here no and if he wants the chance to represent his adopted country then I see no problem with that. It's hardly a mockery. Some of you need to get a grip

The fact is that if NZ came calling he would drop England in a heartbeat, less then 4 months ago he was saying how he cant wait to play for NZ and thats all hes ever wanted.

Exactly, quite frankly it takes the pee out of English RL, shouldn't be playing for us IMO.

Definitely not.
The thing I would like to see more than anything in RL is an Ashes series win. A meaningful one.
The way the governing bodies are devalueing the game, international RL will have kicked the bucket in five years.
