He has also turned rovers down twice before and has said he doesn't want to play there. So wakey it is then, he'll get a good supply from cookie.'"
from what i heard at before the start of last season was he turned rovers down because he had to be better than jake and chev and not welham hes a good local played might as well sign him up to build our local players up.

| I rate him quite highly as a player but yet what is always mentioned is his poor defending which hasn't improved notably since he broke onto the scene in 2007.
However when it comes to going forward and attacking flair he's top drawer imo and could prosper under a generally more expansive brand of rugby that HKR are playing this season. He's not got a fair crack of the whip from Agar since he became coach and under JM Craig Hall could do very well I think. Although he is British though so Justin may be reluctant to sign him.

Strange comment as our last pre season recruitment was Fozzard,Wheeldon,Colborn and Esders along with Spaven getting a deal.
What part of Oz are they from exactly ![Question icon_confused.gif:](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_question.gif)

Spaven and Esders? How many league appearances has Morgs given them this season?
However if you look at:
Jake Webster,
Mick Dobson,
Ben Fisher,
Clint Newton,
Ben Galea,
Daniel Fitzhenry,
Michael Vella,
Makali Aizue,
Stanley Gene
you see 9 of your first-choice 17 aren't english which is what I alluding to. (My mistake for thinking my point was fairly obvious)

He still signed them and any fool would know that he had to build a squad capable of competing in the SL which requires Quality overseas players as there arnt that many British ones who become available.
When the British players become available he is in for them
Cooke
Briscoe
Fox
Walker
As well as the ones ive already mentioned.

| There are no current 'British kids' at Rovers right now that are good enough to take Rhys Lovegrove's place, regardless of his injury.

Precisely.
The players are out there if clubs showed any real desire to look for them. Huddersfield beat Rovers on Friday with only 2 overseas players in their team. Rovers had 7.
Nuff said me thinks.

I keep banging on about it mate but it needs sorting quickly.
Huddersfield and Hull FC need big praise for having the balls to play with the amount of British kids they do.
Other clubs such as Leeds and Saints look towards youngsters as much as they can and Wigan have that production line of youth but still opt for the Austalian when they are in trouble.
Take away the temptation and only allow one and Wigan would blood a youngster.
Given the amount of first team game Lovegrove has had I am sure Ryan Esders would be fitting in quite nicely now.
It is a joke, not only at Rovers but across Super League.

The galling thing for me is that clubs like mine have put a load of resource behind developing in-house talent in preparation for quotas dropping. The latest gem from the RFL basically says that virtually everyone is classed as fed trained so if anything the number of overseas players in our game will go up rather than down in the short term. This effectively disadvantages FC who've put more eggs in the homegrown basket than many others. It's a complete joke. ![Sad icon_sad.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_sad.gif)

Exactly, at Hull there have been some good people doing great work for years bringing kids through, many of which are now playing Championship Rugby, not because they are not good enough for Super League but because they are not as good as the 6/7/8/9/10 Aussies/Overseas in the squad.
If the rules were different some of them would be playing first team for their home town club.
Do Hull KR fans really think life would be that bad watching Iain Morrison, Jon Steel and Ian Hardman pull on a jersey each week?
If the League rules were equal and everyone had to use players like the ones mentioned then surely the National Game would strengthen in the end?
Maybe I am just talking rubbish ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)

Nice spin Mrs B
Hull did it a) - coz they could (Rovers were no threat) and b) - coz Kath thought she could get local players on the cheap like her hubby does at Leeds. It had nothing to do with quotas.
Hull still spend 2/3rds of their playing budget on overseas players.
That said i still think Rovers just pay lip service to their player development program hence the continual change of coaches at youth level. I think they've had about 6 or more different coaches since they got promoted.

The salary cap is £1.6m, 2/3 would be £1.1m. We have Berrigan, Lauaki, Cusack, Byrne, Manu, Tony and Moa. So you are saying they average £152k each, then.

I would be surprised if any of them apart from Berro were on more than £100k, especially Moa.
