Serious question and not a dig, I was told that you had 5 or 6 young players in your squad so you can understand the mistakes and league defeats.

I wouldn't say we have a small squad. We actually have 31 players on full time contracts. I'd say we where a very young and inexperienced squad.

Working on Rovers current cap level of -100k its an average of 51k per player. When you consider Dobson, J Hodgson, Burns and Welham are probable all on 100k+ then the amount you have to play with decreases rapidly.

Gleeson I'd imagine will also be on a healthy contract as he was held in high regard at Salford and he's yet to play a game for Rovers.

I agree. Beharrell, Esslemont, Hepi and Ollett have never played SL. Brown, Heil, Beaumont and Green have about 6 or 8 SL games between them I think. Cox, Salter, Carlile, Walker, Griffin and Caro all still count as inexperienced, IMO. So that leaves only 17 [iproven[/i first grade players. Counted that way it does feel quite small/thin.

As for the cost/value - we've had a high turnover in a competitive and contracting market.

Welham on 100K+ p.a? I hope you are way off cos that would be ridiculous.

I think you will find J Hodgson is on nowhere near 100k and I would be stunned if Welham was. I expect Burns, Dobbo to be on this much, but the others should be well below it.

Well it's not a small squad then really is it if you have 31 players Hull have 32 players and we have more cover in positions than we ever have and only spending 100k a year more.

Mind you the main thing PG said when he came in was "getting value for money" and making the most of the cap.
