The rules state that a player can only be de-registered if his contract is terminated by mutual agreement. Don't worry though - the Hull fans' version of what could happen, while certainly possible, represent their hopes, rather than than what they think likely. Ask Mrs B what she thinks [uwill[/u happen and, in fairness, she'll probably give a reasonable answer. Not [ujust[/u a reasonable answer, most likely, but it'll be in there somewhere. Give her trolling any credence and you'll go nuts.

Kosh's post is correct and Rovers should have compensated Dobson (which would count on the cap). He is technically not a Rugby League Player for HKR. He is not permitted to train or undertake any activities as a player for the club, as pr the operational rules.

You would think that the RFL have been sounded out about re-registration of a key player. If the board (made up of other clubs) decide they don't kie what KR have done, they could turn down the re-registration.

I wonder whether you will have to get Dobbo a new visa when you re-employ him - much in the same case of Obst to Hull or Hauraki from Crusaders to Leeds. technically he would be a new employee and subject to visa clearance.

A tangled web has been woven and could set a very dangerous precedent if not handled carefully by the authorities.

Of coourse Dobbo being released replicates the departure of Webster when he was injured and could unsettle Dobson, prompting a move - which is possible. You should also bear in mind that Dobsons wages and any payment in lieue of termination will count on your salary cap - as would any coaching salary or any role you employ him for. it was this scenario that caught FC out over the salary cap and Andy Last who after playing one game saw his whole salary count against the cap and not just the elements relating to his playing.

Too right I am. Wernt fussed about Mason from the start so this is taking the pi$$. Dobson is 10 times more important then Mason so just having the hint of losing him is bollox.

I believe Dobson to be a free agent as of today as the RFL have stated his contract has been terminated and the head of the RFL has reportedly said he's not a Hull KR player. I'm not stating it as a fact, but as a belief. However before you scoff, I posted this on this matter on Tuesday:
"Maybe a currently unavailable overseas player could have been deregistered until Clinton "sees sense", allowing both Clinton and Mason to play on Sunday."

What [uwill[/u happen? I'd actually say I've no idea. I could envisage either Mason getting his passport or Clinton being binned off. Anyone believing Rovers continual bending of the rules, forcing the RFL to issue statements to clarify things, is raising them up in the estimations of Red Hall is clearly not playing with a full deck.

Dobson is not a free agent!, he has been temporarily deregistered but his contract is still held by rovers and as a result is still on Rovers payroll, it would therefore be illegal for any club to make an approach.
Didnt Something like this happen once before when he was at Catalan Dragons?, my brother in law who is a Geordie and massive Newcastle utd fan (fool), tells me it has happened on a few occasions in football.

Any number of possible reasons. The Op Rules are pretty clear though.

Lets be honest, we've probably bent the rules again, but the fact that if this didn't happen Mason wouldn't be playing tomorrow. That isn't good for Rovers.... and for the RFL either. Mason will get his Tongan stuff in the coming days and Dobson will carry on as normal.

Nothing more.... nothing less.
