People can say it's just another game but the rivalry/banter between the two sets of fans means it'll never be just another game

You are right it is always a bit humiliating to lose to lowly teams and the defeat at 11th placed Hull last season was no exception. Everyone knows even the poorer teams can have the odd good day at home but Hull played above themselves so good luck to them.

Things were put right later on with the hammering at Craven Park and the 3-1 overall margin gives perspective to last years surprise result at the KC.

Who knows, Hull might raise their game again and another shock is possible if Rovers show any complacency. So you are wrong to think the game isn't worth playing. No doubt Rovers will have the final say come the end of the season but you shouldn't write Hull off in a one off encounter.

If there's an even(ish) share of possession then Rovers will win comfortably.

My only concern is if hull rack up some sets with a high completion rate and we don't defuse the diagnal kicks to the corner because hull's game is fairly predictable.

If Vella is in good nick and he starts with Fozzard, then it could be another long afternoon for hull.

I just hope the game lives up to the hype,both teams have the players to make it a great derby,hope both sides come up with the goods.

Could go either way, as with most SL games these days. I still think hull are slight favourites been at home and in generally better form. Although they've yet to face Leeds and Saints.

It's always gut-wrenching to lose a derby, but as long as the effort and commitment is there from us, I'll still enjoy the game for the great occasion it is.

I agree, my comments earlier were based on the initial reactions of FC fans on here when we got promoted, to me and lots of other KR fans and FC fans I know it will always be the big one. My dad always went into a mood for days if we lost but would be singing and whistling for days when we won.

Although the ultimate aim is to come as high as we can, the two results against FC are important to both sets of fans, seperate to the rest of the results of the season, the ones that say they are'nt are either lying or are such recent converts they have no idea of the history.

Hull fans are less bothered because we've tasted success in recent years. I'd quite happily take the dobbins doing the double over us for a CC or GF win.

Or, like me, they don't come from Hull, don't live in Hull, and don't have any Rovers fans for friends/colleagues.

I started following Hull in 1985. For most of the time I've been a fan, Rovers have been an irrelevance. I just can't get any more worked up about the Derbies than any other SL game. For me, the history is just that - history.
