(e) In the case of an amateur Academy player, Academy games at the level (first team or
Reserves or Under 20s or Academy U18s) at which the misconduct occurred, unless
otherwise agreed in writing by the On Field Operational Rules Tribunal, only.


D2:29 The following games shall not count towards a Player's suspension:

(a) Academy team matches played mid-week (Monday to Thursday inclusive). When a
Club, as a matter of policy and with the sanction of the relevant Committee plays its
Academy team matches in mid-week, and that Club has no first team match played on
Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday following that mid-week date, then the Academy
team match played in mid-week will count towards a Player's suspension;

(b) Those games which are classed by the On Field Operational Rules Tribunal as friendly,
pre season or warm up games other than the one game included pursuant to D2:28 (d)
above;

(c) Games played in limited age competitions unless the Player is eligible to play by age
(i.e. is not an overage player) or unless the relevant misconduct occurred at that level
of competition or unless otherwise agreed in writing by the On Field Operational Rules
Tribunal.

'Trial games' do in the NRL, slightly ridiculously, iirc.

I imagine the RFL will assess these things on a case by case basis - they like that.

IMO, they won't (it's not like we're Leeds, is it?) and they shouldn't - unless the NRL indicate that the likely inclusion of pre-season games, if he'd stayed in Oz, was taken into consideration and influenced the length of the ban.

Spoiling for an argument? I don't give a stuff what rules you had ready to post, does it seem right to you? Should we ask how Castleford were allowed to play Dwain Chambers whilst he was serving a life ban from competition sprinting?

I might be wrong here but I thought he'd served his ban and the reason he gave TGG a go was because all future prize money was going to be seized. He was also banned from The Olympics sine die, sponsors wouldn't touch him and the promoters of the European Grand Prix series wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

I'm sorry but how come you only sign Aussies or foreigners? Confuses me how you can have that many non-english players and still get away with it

We sign players who're somehow eligible to play for England, like Chase.

STT - either way, my point is that it's not unrealistic to assume that the ban wouldn't transfer. Just because Ramekin had read the up to date rules doesn't mean everyone automatically know's, nevermind remove their right to question it.

And I don't give a stuff that you are unable to admit your mistake even when presented with RFL rules showing as such.
Don't get upset at me because you didn't check on it before jumping in both feet first.
Also I wasn't spoiling for anything all I did was state the rules that are readily available to anyone who has a computer and has a free PDF reader.
Oh and Chambers had served his ban and the IOC agreed as such hence him competing about a month ago at London 2012 plus the last time I checked the athletic body that banned him are not part of RLIF/RLEF anyway.

He's missed 6 NRL games, I'm not sure if pre season fixtures count in SL.

We will tell the RFL that they count, the RFL are pushovers, just ask Bradford

He would have had 3 pre season games count in the NRL.
