Yep - you're never sure quite how any signing will turn out, but prospectively that seems a very impressive bit of business.
Not sure about 'just' needing a 7, but he should be an important addition to the squad and after news of a few high profile departures it certainly raises spirits!

Just the sort of player we need to replace Micky Pea & still young enough to do long spells on trhe pitch. Just as long as he has his heart in the move he will do OK.

I think my use of the term 'just' is more desperation for us to get a satisfactory deal done and out of the way so fans don't start to panic. Obviously a couple more solid signings are required but the priority really is to replace Mick. It's a well known saying that forwards win you games and backs decide by how many. He's an NRL GF & WCC winner so his pedigree is exactly what we are looking for. Plus, it's massive to be able to attract a player who is possibly still in the prime of his career and not over 30!

Great signing IMO watched him play a few times will replace Pea no probs if we get Costigen as well we wont have lost much,if anything, scrum half now to be signed Smithy done well up to now

Really pleased with this signing. Was playing Origin and for Australia in 2010. Exactly the type of experienced player we need to help bring on our youngsters. The fact he's signed a 2 year deal sends a clear message to other potential recruits that the club is in a better position than some think and moving in the right direction!
