Quote Noel Cleal="Noel Cleal"Saints play Leeds the week before the cup final, however it is the Thursday match. So it could be double bad news for you lot.
As a saints fan, I agree with taking the semi seriously. Last year we had a hard game against Warrington the week before. If we had rested players then we would have been accused of giving Cats too much respect. With our record in Semis we need to be 100% focused on beating Halifax.
On a side note the side we are likely to play could still beat London. Committed youngsters are better than old men with one eye on the week after.'"
Saints need to look after the best interests of Saints, i’ve no problem with that.
The committed youngsters thing is a mitigating argument though (at best), a forlorn hope to cling as we’re battered by the crosswinds of another team’s pursuit of silverware. Don’t tell us it is good news for us - we deserve better than that!
Yes, the team Saints will field vs the Broncos [icould[/i win.. the problem for us is that they very probably won’t.
Our more pressing concern has to be our own games, anyway, and winning some more of those. There’s no point moaning about getting a rough deal if we don’t help ourselves.
