I very much hope we stay up, but I know where you are coming from. I wasn’t far off in Sheens last days (and generally I was an admirer of his).
However, there does seem to be a concerted effort get us out of the rut. Tony Smith, John Bastian, buying the ground and so on. I’m concerned that we seem to be in for a lot of small-ish players again for 2020, and i’d like to think that if we survive, Smith would see the need for more power and influence our recruitment and S&C accordingly.

Beaten who? Hull or Rovers? Hull and Rovers would have both comfortably beaten that saints outfit today.

I fear the game is in free fall so many poor teams, relegation as a treat means teams make short term choices, we should have stuck with licensing but made teams meet strict criteria to stay in, reserves, support of local amateur game, academies, facilities, business proitabilityand yes performances on the field. I clearly don't have the answers but the game is dying in the UK'"
Not a Rovers fan but have to agree Some stability financial and playing rosters can go some way to improving SL.
interesting comments from Mr Schofield today ' even if Leeds bottom at end of the season'no way shall they be relegated'

| Holbrook should be deported immediately back to Kooragang Island.
I didn't vote Brexit for jokers like him to come swanning over here, fielding his under 16's in a SL game, taking the mick out of all the hard working, traditional clubs like Rovers. Elstone should give us 4pts, it's only fair.

I've heard people saying "the game is dying" for the past 124 years.
Licensing/franchising, whatever it was called, was boooorrrring. 10 games in and half the league had nothing to play for. Franchising only works if 80-90% of teams are operating at a similar level, like the NRL.
There's no reason we can't have P&R but with criteria in place too; obviously finishing top/winning the playoffs, mandatory Academies, Reserves, Foundations, and x stadium capacity. Revenue & attendances are too hard to judge, as promotion would see both increase.
I'd also put central funding restrictions in place for clubs which don't operate Ladies, PDRL, LDRL & Wheelchair RL teams.
