I am in the process of creating a website dedicated to John Holmes, who gave such long service to rugby league during a 20 year playing career.
I am collecting memories of John from ex-teammates, opponents, officials, writers, photographers and especially spectators.
I would welcome views and opinions from supporters other than from Leeds. As the site will not just concentrate on John but build up to be a montage of rugby league from the late 60s to late 80s.
So what was it like for an opposition fan to have your team face a Leeds team back then with John Holmes in their side. Could you appreciate his skills, if not for Leeds, maybe for Great Britain. A couple of lines or a few paragraphs of your memories would be very welcome. I will due credit on the site for all submissions. I'll let you know the web address when it is launched at the end of February.

to all those that criticised this team...
tonight's for you"
