Congratulations to Carl for getting this lad to come over and sign for us.I told all you doubters there may be some overseas players coming. I guess there will still be some moaning about him being a young lad and not experienced enough but lets face it, the experience of Andy Kain hasn't done Hunslet much good this season.The management are steadily putting together a good young team with more signings to come and the future is beginning to look very promising.

Well done to the club. Oh and can we call time at having a pop at each other now please. Think on TF how you started your posts off on this forum, as I have already stated me and you have swopped places on the make up of our statements and thats what sport does to folk. Enough is enough the only thing that matters is next season.

Potentially a very good signing, he's obviously no mug to play who he has played for, a lot will depend on how he settles. Still a bit of experience required, but I'm sure that's coming.

I acknowledge and totally agree with what you say but it does appear that no matter what the Club does some people will not be happy.Anyway as you have said, it's time to draw a line under negativity and look forward to next season.I just hope everyone feels the same now that a good side is being put together.

I think we just beat Newcastle to sign him.

Andy Kain was injured a fair bit, if he hadn't I think he would have kept Hunslet up.
He would have certainly kept us up.

There is a good deal to look forward to next season ... I think these players will be a cut above the youngsters we signed last time.

This certainly looks a very good signing. Congratulations to all concerned in getting this piece of business done.

I certainly like the look of him. These youngsters do seem significantly better than last seasons.

In today's Donny Star Gary Thornton says he is hoping to add 3 more players so if Wanderer's 2016 squad figures above are correct we will have a total of 15 players.Unless more players from this season's squad have signed on that we don't know about this is confusing to say the least, so can anyone throw any light on this.

In the official announcement of the Jordie Hedges signing, Gary Thornton is quoted as saying "I’m delighted with how the recruitment has gone so far, we’ve completed a number of other deals which will be announced in due course".

In the DS today he is quoted as saying "I’m hoping to add another three players".

The way I read those two statements is ....

As well as the 12 offically announced, there are others signed, the names of which haven't yet been released plus there are 3 spaces which GT hopes to fill yet.

So it's possible, depending on the size of the squad which will be in place next season, there could be another 8 or 10 signed-up already, whose names will be released in the coming weeks?

I could be wrong, certainly wouldn't be the first time, but that's how I read it.

Some interesting points from this weeks In The Dugout ...

8 or 9 of the current squad to be retained ... 5 of those are already named so a further 3 or 4 can be expected.

A squad of 25 anticipated ... so quite possibly something in the region of 10 players where the deals are already done or very close (including the 3 or 4 retained players) based on 'hoping to add another three players' comment.

The other incoming half-back is currently playing in C1.
